Change benefits from money to vouchers that can only be used by the recipient.
And how would they be able to use them on a market for cheaper food?Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

There seem to be an awful lot of "newbies" who have just joined to spout some very nasty comments on people who recieve benefits.

And what if home owners can't afford changes?Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Create a lesson plan for schools in cookery (Not cakes and biscuits, proper healthy meals on a budget), how to make a meal plan and to write lists for shopping etc, gardening, sewing and home budgeting and the dangers of debt. We could call it Life skills class.
Too much is geared towards purely academic subjects these days and not enough on the realities of running a home or living on your own.Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Notice when ‘interest free’ is ending
Several credit cards offer an enticing interest free period. But when it lasts 18+ months, it’s easy to forget when this is due to end. Banks should give 1 months’ notice when interest rates are due to kick in, to give you a chance to pay the outstanding balance in full.
I make a note of things like that. Diary? Notice board on the kitchen wall?
Surely there are some things that are a matter of self-responsibility.0 -
I know i can block callers to my mobile, but it doesnt appear to have the same effect on texters, with the only way to opt out is to text STOP which effectively tells them they had a real number in the first place.
So i would like the ability to block nuisance texters:):):):):):j:):):):):):)

Similar to my previous thread. I can block numbers calling my mobile that are transparent enough to leave a number. However, if a call comes up unknown, then it is impossible to block them.
Therefore commercial callers should have to leave a phone number footprint by law.:):):):):):j:):):):):):)

1) Scrap child benefit. Replace with a weekly payment to adults between ages of 18 and 30 who do not have children. Idea being those that can afford children and want them because they want them can have them at any time (less children born in to poverty, vicious circle etc), those that can't afford yet but want them at some point can save these payments up. And those that just have kids due to recklessness or to get 'free housing' won't have any reason to. Tax payer shouldn't have to bail out jeremy kyle types.
2) Slash/scrap job seekers, scrap 'free' labour for private companies abusing the work experience. All job seekers to do work around town for councils, hospitals, charities such as painting, litter removal, collecting shopping, admin work etc in return for living wage payments
3) From money saved above introduce a 'feed the UK' program where residents who have been here from birth or lived here for over 10 years are entitled to free fruit and vegetables weekly.
4) Introduce a sugar/fat tax at rate of 10p/gram of refined sugar and trans fats for all products, would also fund above.
5) For landlords who own umpteen properties I would introduce for 3 properties a 25% tax rate on income, 4 properties 50% and 5 100%. Will force a lot more properties on the market, bringing prices back to a level that new buyers will be able to afford.
6) For companies that pay less than living wage, an additional 20% corporation tax and/or additional forced 50% pension payments. All MP's to be paid performance related pay chosen by public, starting salary to be living wage.
7) Introduce driving retests every 10 years- those that fail not allowed to use car during peak times
8) Build victorian style prisons for those who won't / can't be integrated back in to society. No TV, or playstations, or mobile phones (a friends friend done for manlaughter said he enjoyed being inside)
9) Force a law to prevent teachers, nurses, doctors having to work more than 12 hours a day
10) Require all new cars to have a minimum of 100BHP, all round disk brakes, and bi yearly MOTs or 6000 miles, whichever is first.0 -
I believe that the Property sector is one of the biggest unregulated sectors where Freeholders are making huge sums of money aswell as Property Developers and ultimately homeowners suffering because of various practices. Ban Leasehold Flats - Properties should be Freehold only otherwise its the same as renting. Then Property Management Companies hired by the Freeholder are taking advantage of Leaseholders and there is no real Ombudsman (with any teeth) or regulation to prevent them from doing so.0

Water's precious, all households should be metered and we should all pay the same rate per litre used.0
