CM Well I'm glad you've finally got some hot water. I was starting to smell you from over here.
You and Tru make a good pair.
I'm off to bed.Granny is already exhausted and it's only Day 1. XDIL arrived with her new [STRIKE]ugly[/STRIKE] boyfriend in tow. I put my good hostess hat on and was very nice if I might add.
DGS waved them off happily and didn't even want to kiss Mummy goodbye. He was too busy wanting to go and help Poppa water the veggies.I'm thinking of ordering some nets to keep the locusts off.
Csarina Happy Birthday  Have a lovely day.
Welcome to all the new posters. Your very welcome to post anytime. Well have a great day everyone. ByeeeeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -

Hi everyone. Was it ODDSNSODS who invited the newbies? Well done - it's great to have some new 'faces'.
Welcome to SERENA, SHARRONLOVES2SPEND and FROGGA! You're more than welcome here and don't need to be invited! You will enjoy it here! I love it and have made some wonderful friends.
TAPLADY - sympathise with you re your old gent; I once worked in an old peoples' home and I loved it - I was very sad when I left. A lot of people don't have much time for the next generation but the ones I worked with were all lovely.
CSARINA - HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!
PENPIN - I hope you're feeling better today.
PINK-WINGED - my lot love marrow! We like it steamed on it's own or stuffed with variations of mince. Really delicious!
Well, such a lot of people are either going away or have just come back so, for those of you going - have a great time - and, for those who have returned, welcome back!
Today's posts seem really upbeat - it must be the sunny weather and the fact that it's Friday. I've just been into the village and everyone there seems cheerful so it must be the weather! Had to go to the bank and then, of course, a quick mooch around the charity shop! I bought a book on arthritis exercises which I will send to my sister who has osteoarthritis, a poetry book, a birdwatching kit complete with binoculars (that work) for my DGS, a really trendy embroidered denim sun hat for DGD and a fantastic stamp set - 24 different stamps, ink pads and book - says £14.99 on the back and I paid 95p - I'm really chuffed; it will be brilliant for making my own wrapping paper. All in all, I spent £3.89 (well, £4 - I always tell them to put the change in the charity box) so a very good shopping session.
Well, I've been thinking about JackieO so I hope she's home soon and can start looking ahead.
Off now to make some cakes and damp-dust and hoover right through - DH may be coming home from France today, he's not sure yet, so, if he does, I don't want to spend the whole weekend cleaning. THRIFTLADY - I missed baking too. I had to make some this morning - I couldn't stand it! It's lovely to have a break to recharge the brain but I'm looking forward to him being home again.
Anyway, must go - will call back in later. Hope everyone has a lovely day and, the rest of the 86 - come on in, the water's lovely!

Edited to put some birthday cakes on here for Csarina and some smiley waves for the newbies but it won't let me; please pretend you got them!KNIT YOUR SQUARE TOTALS:

I am one of these toohave been reading for a while, but not wanted to intrude, i love hearing what you are doing each day, and what you are having for dinner (gives me some great ideas) .
A quick introduction, I am a 38yr old mum of one (DD12) was a single mum for 10 yrs, but a yr and 1/2 ago i met the most wonderfull man, and have been blissfully happy ever since, just took me a while to find him !
I work three days a week for charity (paid work), and do consider my self to be OS, I love cooking and make nearly all my meals from scratch.
HM Pizza and salad for tea tonight, may not be able to post everyday but will whenever time allows.
Thanks to you all for a great thread, and hope its ok if i join you.

Thought I'd drop in again and say hello and how guilty I am now feeling as I have just blown the diet, AGAIN!
Last year I was 8 stone lighter and seem to be putting weight on like my life depends on it.
Have been trying SO hard to spend less at Sainsburys but then went and bought aload of binge food and Binged!
Have done this for so many years its such a hard bloody habit to break.
Have been Veggie since I was a kid and really want to go vegan as I have always felt myself a bit hypocritical still supporting the dairy trade.
Just watched Madaline Mcanns parents on the telly and realise what a selfish b***h I am moaning about such pathetic things. It's nice to make new friends on here as I can't stand myself at the moment!Say it once, say it loud ~ I'm an Atheist, Anti-Royalist, Socialist, Tea-Total Veggie Frog and PROUD!:D

Well, that post really worked - glad to have you all join in!! (BTW, it was 96 when I posted; I took 10 off for the ones that had posted at that point!) Join in; I haven't been posting on the daily for very long.
TREES ARE GONE!! OMG, the back yard looks twice as big! Now i can really see that the fence is going to have to come down and be put up again; its about 1 year old, but has been put up really shoddily (not by us!). The people who came were great; one young VERY fit guy who did the cutting (asked if he could take off his shirt!) and one older guy who wasn't as fit but very cheeky. Took them 1 1/2 hours to cut down, shred and clean up, did a good job.
The fit one told me he'd been sunbedding (his bum!) as he'd been asked to 'Butle in the Buff' for someone, so he thought he'd try it out once and see if he liked it, apparently with an apron in front to cover his ......
Also found that the blackberries were ready to pick again, DH had never noticed.... gonna have to train him up better. Got enough for another crumble, or something different... The berries are so nice, I'm torn as to whether to try to get rid of it or not. We'll see I guess once I've managed ot get the garden in some sort of order, its very overgrown right now.0
