    Morning all,

Taplady, I’m so glad that your ds and the passengers in the other car weren’t hurt, still it must have been a dreadful shock and I hope it doesn’t end up costing you too much.
PennyPincher, sorry to hear that you haven’t been well….try to take it easy.
Aussie, shame on you for torturing poor churchmouse…I fear you may have a second plague of locusts arriving.
JackieO, I know you won’t be reading today, but I hope that yesterday went well for you.
Sharonlovestospend and Frogga, Welcome! No invitations are necessary...I hope you enjoy it here. :)
Csarina, I hope you have a lovely day! :bdaycake:

HariboJunkie and family came round early yesterday morning and in a moment of madness I offered to look after the girls while she took her dh to the airport. Actually, it was great to spend some time with my adorable nieces but unfortunately they managed to persuade Auntie Pink to fly a kite… kites and I don’t really get along at the best of times and this was one massive kite! Somehow I managed to get the stupid thing entangled on a neighbour’s roof, but thankfully another neighbour got his ladders out to get it down. Why is it that Haribos of any variety seem to create chaos wherever they go? ;):p

The kite thing was a bit embarrassing, but well worth the embarrassment as I managed to get a fantastic freebie out of it. While talking to the neighbour who rescued the kite, somehow we got onto the subject of seafood. A couple of hours later, he arrived at the door with the most amazing seafood platter. Apparently his wife works in catering and had been doing a corporate function and there was far too much food so she brought the extra home. So last night, dinner was lobster, mussels, smoked salmon, dressed crab, prawns and oysters with salad and crusty bread. As the salad was all home-grown, total cost for the meal was about 30p for the homemade bread! :j

I had planned to make a stuffed marrow as it needed to be picked because it looked as though it was going to take over the garden……. but that joy has been postponed until tonight. I don’t think any of us are really looking forward to it because anyone I’ve asked about marrows have told me that they taste like water.

Ok, better get myself in gear. Haribo and the junkies are due here soon and the house needs to be sorted before she arrives. Unfortunately she is the sister who got the housework gene so it comes naturally to her. It doesn’t to me. :o I can’t bear the thought of her casting her beady eye over my dusty window sills, so I’m off to do the needful.

    Have a good day everyone.

    Take care,

    Pink

HG ones are much less watery, but still not too flavouful. I cut mine in half, fill it with chilli, or bolognaise, or vegetabel rice, something like that. I then cover in cheese, and bake slowly until the marrow is soft. Cut into slices, and serve. There's usually too much marrow, but it tastes nicer infused with whatever it was stuffed with.

BTW, I started a thread this morning, at exactly the same time an N9eav. Could you merge or delete? I'll pop and get the link. Here it is.

    Many thanks, Penny. x

Thanks Penny for the idea...I was going to do bolognese but now that you've mentioned chilli I think I'll go for that.

    Off to merge the threads.

Hi everyone, thank god it's Friday.

Csarina - have a great birthday, make sure you are spoiled, as it's the one day you can get away with anything (well, I make sure I do on mine):bdaycake:
Anniebooklover - I really need some new lino/tiles for my bathroom. So jealous!
PPenguin - Happy Anniversary for tomorrow
FBThree - LOL @ your signature, 8 shops in August so far in your grocery challenge - you'll need a season ticket soon! :rotfl:
SharronLoves2spend & Frogga - welcome! I always think everyone is more interesting than me, but I'm dead nosy so it's good to hear what everyone's up to each day. It also motivates me to hear how good other people are at chores and cooking and stuff.

I'm at work today. Stopped for a quick read and still here 20 mins later! Going to nip off about 4pm today. Going to see Rush Hour 3 at cinema later and OH is taking me out for dinner so no cooking today :j
It's lovely in Sunderland today but my washing basket is empty so couldn't take advantage. This talk of bbq's is making me want to have another. not had one since end June so might nag OH about one for next weekend later. I lost another 1.5lbs at Slimming World last night (tho not sure I deserved it this week). Must get into holiday clothes, must get into holiday clothes. Going in 3 weeks

Hope you're all having a good Friday - those at work, it's nearly the weekend - WOO HOO!
Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!

Pink, thanks for sticking up for me with that torturer of innocents, AussieLass!! (I'm breeding an especially virulent batch of locusts that will wing their way to Lamb Island, just as soon as Aussie's DGS has gone home! He he he!)

Well,:j :j :j :j :j :j :D:D:D I've got hot water!!! :p:p:p Aussie!! Who'd have thought that's all it would take to make me deliriously happy:rotfl: (I'm a simple soul really!) Truthfully it's only lukewarm at the moment but it will get there, and then I'm having a long hot shower, apologies to the environment, but after all those cold ones I've earned it!!!

anniebooklover, hope you have success with your timer. (Did I tell you I've got HOT water:rotfl: )

Hope you all have good days.

Jackie, I know you'll be unlikely to see our messages, but big hugs to you today, hope you're getting over the Op.
