  • Good morning everyone

It's quiet here today. Too quiet. (as they say in all those terrible western films. :D )

JackieO hope all those candles, prayers, good vibes, etc worked and all went well. Come back to us soon.
Pen-Pin sorry to hear you've been so poorly. Hope you are on the road to recovery now.
taplady glad DS is ok. You and DH had the right attitude. The car can easily be fixed.
It's a beautiful morning here and it's supposed to last all day. :j Woke up very early but felt rested so I got up. Ahead of myself now, which can't be a bad thing.

I *finally* did all the trimming of the new lino in the bathroom yesterday - it's a lovely shade of blue (just like my language when I misjudged one teeny part :o ) and really makes a huge difference. Looks like a new bathroom. Also got lots of deep cleaning done yesterday so I was done in when I went to bed last night.

Glad it's Friday. Only three more working days after this until boss is back in the office. :j There haven't been any problems while he has been away but I always feel a little bit unsettled being responsible for absolutely everything. I'm on holiday the week after next so I will be ready for it by then.

Really must get some cooking done - I haven't been doing any this week as DS and DD are away with XDH. I have stuff that needs to be used though so I will try and make room in the freezer so that I can cook and freeze.

Oooooh! Almost forgot to say that I have quite a few tomatoes now - still green but it's fantastic to go outside and admire my green fingers results. The pumpkin plant is HUGE too and doesn't seem to appeal to the slugs so much as the pepper plants, which are looking very sorry for themselves at the mo.

Think I will get some housework done before I head off to work. Have a fantastic Friday everyone. xx

    Morning everyone:D

Got the bikes out yesterday - went for ride to the pub! kids had a play on their swings/slide thingy and me and DH had a beer! cant tell you how long its been since ive been in a pub! :rotfl: plus i couldnt believe it had been a year since we got the bikes out! i felt even more un-fit than i did last year!:o

Yesterday I made a coconut bread (to use up the coconut) - it wasnt very nice - so ended up in the bin! Put a wholemeal loaf in the BM - which didnt rise - thats because i used the Asda Yeast and not the Hovis Yeast - everytime i try it things dont rise, but the Hovis one they rise beautifully!
so i wasnt very good on the OS baking front!:rotfl:

Plans for today are abit of cleaning/tidying up around the house and ironing. Am hoping to go to Ramsgate tomorrow for the day.

Asda were havin a mega clearout yesterday of the summer stuff - ive got my eye on those 10ft trampolenes currently at £65 - if they reduce them I think i will try and bag one!;)

Dinner today will be Topside of beef that I bagged (as i happened to be at the counter at right time) for £2.20! plus a couple of other yellow stickered thingsfor freezer. I think it might pay to go there at around 6pm everyday and do this!!!

    Have a good friday!:D

Happy Anniversary for tomorrow Mr&Mrs PPenguin (in case I dont get on) have a lovely barbeque! 17 years!!!!
  • Good Morning all!

Same old same old here; getting tired of saying that. Trees are coming down this afternoon. yay! Monday the rootballs are coming out then TAHT is done. WIll have to see if the HA for next door have got their quotes to get the treees down at the front; they agreed that they need to come down + we dont' pay so we'll see. We'll also back the neighbours up that they dont' pay either as they didn't ask to have them down, we did - in a few years they will be interfering with the foundations.

Cats killed a pretty dragonfly yesterday. :-(

My thai chicken got railroaded last night, the thai green curry paste was off, so DH went to the local store and brougth back a chinese curry sauce. Hmmm, it was OK, but not what my tastebuds wanted. Sending him to the chinese food store today. He can go on the way to work.

DH put his back out last night; will have to see how he's doing today then get him to the osteopath if its not good. Foot got really swollen up as well; will have to see what its like this AM then go to the surgery if it doen't get better.

    An unusual approach odds-n-sods!:D

I was waiting in the hope of having something positive to say about my hot-water situation. Keep your fingers crossed as I presently have a man thumping around in my loft, and he has brought a van-full of parts and is promising me it will be fixed:T He was parked outside my house at 7.30 this morning just waiting for 8am to knock at the door. Kindness itself, I invited him in early:D

    Bye for now,

    CMxx

SHEZ - I had exactly the same results with Sainsbury's yeast - really disappointing; I actually thought there was something wrong with my BM which made me really grumpy! It must be something to do with them being own-brand. I always get perfect results with Allinson's Easybake and Hovis yeast - I'll never try own-brand again!

AMIE - good to see you back on here!

    Good Morning All

    Another glorious day here!

Got plenty of washing to go through, try & get it done before the wk end.
Must attempt to sort out the kids clothes after work. See (if any) what they need for their holiday. And start packing! Think DD will be ok, just maybe DS who might need some shorts etc! Being tho their camping, I wont go over board and buy expensive items (never do anyway) (not since Pri-Armani shop opened in Chesterfield!)

Made some more cards last night. Might have a chance to sell them in the local Beauty Salon near me!

OH overslept this morning! Kept giving me dirty looks as if to say it was my fault! What ever!!

    Right best be off
    Have a good day all

My OS bit - I've emptied the dishwasher and put some washing out :D
