  • I've just had a great success with HSBC. I took out a loan in 2004 where they added the PPI to the amount and then added interest on top. Was paying £410 per month and £95 of that was PPI. In October 2005 I asked to remove the PPI from the loan but was told by HSBC that I could only do that with a new credit agreement at a much higher rate - and it would be more expensive per month.

Contacted HSBC 8 weeks ago to challenge this. They initially knocked me back but after having contacted the FOS - I've received an offer from HSBC for £5k!!

I can't thank Martin and his team enough. This is just an amazing result and will go a long way to making my family's life debt-free. Martin & Team - if you're ever in the North of England, let me know and I will buy you all a well-earned beer!

I have said this before, but please don't feel disheartened if you've been let down, I am in a bit of situation myself at the moment and will not let it get me down, I will keep fighting, there are ways around this, so keep fighting folks, show them what we're made of.........:D ;) .

  • My insurance was £300 with a lloyds TSB, got a letter saying i could reclaim.
Got a grand total of £67 'as the amount is offsetted by how much time I have left to pay it'. Hmmm, sounds like a rip off to me as I didnt ever claim on it, my business manage is in the process of 'finding out why it was low' which is taking about 3 weeks.

    Its all a scam! lol.

The good news on here about people being successful against HBOS has certainly given me resolve and hope. "If at first you don't succeed............."
Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!

After a couple of months, finally FP have refunded all ppi plus interest!!

I must just add, i only wrote one letter, the original from this site, and after receiving the usual 'sorry to hear about this but we are not witholding blah, blah, blah' , i decided to persist on phoning the guy's name on the bottom of the letter i received. He actually proved to be extremely helpful, i phoned him 2-3 times a week just to keep him focused, but all the time, every thing he said that he would do, he did in a very polite manner, im not for one moment praising the appalling company he works for, but credit where credit is due.
It has taken approx 10 weeks from when i started my claim to receiving payment yesterday, couldn't have done it without this fantastic site and some extremely helpful info in relation to reclaiming, so thank you all so much and good luck with all your reclaiming, i hope you all eventually are as fortunate as myself.

Sent the letter to Lloyds TSB on the 27th of June 2008, stating that they had missold me the PPI on a loan I took out in 2005. First letter was ignored so sent second letter which I got a response to on the 11th of July 2008 stating they were refunding me the PPI (lump sum payment I made on the load) plus the interest, totally £4,400. Was so shocked I dropped my bourbon into my cup of tea.

Thank you so much...all the help and advice is greatly appreciated.

  • Thank you, thank you, thank you. I have had a bank loan with Natwest which I finish paying next week, i rummaged through my drawers to find the old paperwork and discovered that I had paid PPI, I had wrongly assumed that this was compulsory to me getting the loan thw bank had calculated that i would pay a total of 744 in PPI on my loan, I downloaded the template letter and didn't really think i would get a response or that they would say i wasn't mis sold, how wrong was I they wrote to say they would investigate and get back to me within 4 weeks, Ive now received a letter offering me 1040 in compensation the amount i paid plus interest, I'm not 1000 richer but I am now 1000 less in debt !!! Thank you so much

I had 3 loans with the Halifax between 2001 and 2005 which I paid off early that all had single premium PPI. First wrote to the Halifax back in Feb and both my 1st and 2nd letters were fobbed off. I filed my complaints with the FOS in April.

This week I have just heard from the FOS that all 3 of my complaints have been successful and that HBOS will be compensating me!
    :j

I've yet to find out how much this will be but I'm very pleased with the outcome. It did take a bit of time and a few stamps and letters but it is worth it and I would encourage anyone else to claim.
