Hello everyone- just a quick note of success- well, 4 actually!!3 of them were for tesco Loans where I'd took out a loan then paid it off and got more on top twice- for these I got £2250 and then for a Natwest one (this is really good as it went back to 1997- but I kept all the paperwork) and they have offered me the full premium back of £467.00Cheers for advice!! A Happy Mike :)

    Debt-free and Proud!
Afternoon all. Thought I'd update you on my progress to date with ppi reclaims. I have had sucesses with three companies so far - £2,487 from Egg, £1,748 from Cahoot and £1,498 from Tesco Loans. Two have come back to me saying no, Mint and Natwest Credit Card, so they are now with the ombudsman. Am still waiting on Barclaycard and HFC to come back to me.

Finally, called the RBS PPI relaims department today for an update on a Natwest Loan and was told that the claim had been successful and they are just awaiting the statements from their archives so they can calculate the amount. I'm not getting my hopes up too much, but I've done a rough calculation and the refund should hopefully pretty much wipe out the loan. :j

To anyone who is doubting whether they should reclaim, just go for it, its amazing what you get back if you ask! I am on a DMP and have significantly reduced my debts so far. I don't know what I'll do once all of my claims have been settled!

    Hi,
I haven't been on here in ages so thought I would update on some recent successes.......

Barclaycard - I wrote to them originally in sept 09 and they ignored all my letters, after 8 weeks of no response at all I passed it to FOS and after getting an adjudicator involved Barclays have agreed to refund over £800 to my account.

Shop Direct (Choice catalogue)......ah well this one got REALLY complicated!! I originally complained directly to Shop Direct July 09, and they said point blank no mis-selling, I knew that they had mis-sold it for various reasons so eventually passed my complaint to FOS. They couldn't take it up with Shop Direct because of the dates, but took it up with the insurers/underwriters. This is where it got messy because there were 2 possible insurers in contention - Aviva and AIG (now Chartis UK), neither took responsibility for selling the PPI and for months it went back and forth between the two and FOS. Eventually Chartis took responsibilty and said Shop Direct would refund me directly as a goodwill gesture. However Shop Direct refused to do this as they still maintained the policy had not been mis-sold. The upshot is that Chartis UK have refunded me directly as a goodwill gesture - over £1100!

Shop Direct - Littlewoods extra - Aviva underwrote (sp?) this one and arranged in Dec 09 for Shop Direct to refund me directly. After hearing nothing by april this year I followed it up - I also got Aviva to chase Shop Direct (who denied all knowledge of knowing anything about it), after a few letters back and forth I received a cheque from Shop Direct for £66 (only small I know but it was the principle!).

I have three more still with the ombudsman - MBNA - waiting for an adjudicator, Shop Direct/Littlewoods/Aviva - already with an adjudicator, and Argos. I also have a few more - EGG, Black Horse and Welcome Finance who have all ignored all my letters so far, so are about to be passed tp FOS when the 8 weeks are up.......

Some of mine have taken a while to be sorted, but they have been sorted, if you know you have been mis-sold don't give up no matter how long it takes
