PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

I wrote one letter to HSBC on the 17/12/09 using the template and got a reply that they were investigating my claim on the 29/12/09. On the 16/02/2010 I received an acceptance offer of £2,489.60. £1660.02 for the original PPI and £829.58 of interest at 8%.

SUCCESS!!! just got off the fone to Welcome Finance, I sent them first template letter at the end of November 2009 but had no answer from them other than that they were dealing with my case, contact in due time blah blah blah..
Two weeks ago sent them 2nd template letter giving them two weeks to reply or I'll go to the ombudsman. No reply so foned the ombudsman this mornin to start the ball rolling, then thought I'd give Welcome a chance by ringing them up just incase. Spoke to a woman in the complaints department & to my surprise she said that there was a note on my file to say a letter had been sent out 17th Feb with an offer of £1700 & an acceptance form!!!! I told her I havent had this letter yet so she's going to re-send it for me!!!
I know I haven't actually got the money in my bank account yet but surely its a good start that they've made an offer without gettin the ombudsman involved!!!! Soooo pleased!!!!
Now on to Barclaycard to chase up my complaint about credit card charges & card protection payements, wish me luck.......

Success I have managed to claim back PPI on Business Overdraft for my Business Partner. Sorted directly with Lloyds. Took 8 weeks for them to respond and uphold the complaint.

£520.00 including interest.

• Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: 1st letter
• And then write your brief reclaim tale

sent first letter off 4 weeks ago received an acknowledgement letter saying they were looking into it and today received a letter offering me £1250. really chuffed. hubby said i was wasting my time so for anyone wondering if its worth it definitely do it.the loan was from ten years ago too!!!

Congratulations!! Although slightly jealous My case was finally concluded by the Financial Ombudsman at the end of November and I have been waiting since for a letter from Welcome Finance with my offer. I'm hoping now that you have (almost) had yours, mine will be not far behind.
