Hi Ellbee, hope your well.;)
Well done and good for you - for speaking up :T:T:T
This is great, hope this will be in your account soon hun, and good job you asked them to do this because the post not looking good, and with the coming strikes as well, this is wise.:T:T:T Xxx
Hi Di,
Thank you! I've received the following email from the FOS today:
"I have been advised that the necessary BACS form to send the payment electronically has been completed and the business just needs to cancel the previous cheque.
I have been advised that the payment will be hopefully sent tomorrow and will be with you in 3 - 5 working days.
If you have received anything by 30 October, please let me know."
I think the last paragraph is probably meant to say if I haven't received anything!! I emailed back asking FOS to forward to Loans.co.uk and said that if its not in my account this week I'll be going through the courts and claiming interest and compensation for stress!!! I've negotiated settlement figures with a couple of companies as well to be paid by the end of this month so it had better be in or I'll be claiming that too!! Can you imagine these companies waiting 14 weeks for a payment from us?!! Definitely not!!! I've thought it was a bit long winded emailing the FOS and getting them to forward to Loans.co.uk but thinking about it, its all there in black and white and I can say what I need to as well as making the FOS aware of the situation. When I'm on the phone I usually forget to say something or if the other person is nice I feel sorry for them!!!!!!!
Anyway, hopefully a resolution is in sight.
Thanks to you and everyone else for your support. You're all wonderful!! :T:T:T0 -

Hope you are all well?
My case against Barclays is still ongoing... I am claiming mis-sell on 5 loans... My case has been with the FOS since November 08... My adjudicator did not receive any answer from Barclays, when he asked them to consider paying up on all 5 loans (they did offer a goodwill gesture on 3 loans in January 09)... So two weeks ago, he told me that he would pass it on the Ombudsman himself to make a binding decision... I emailed him 10 days ago, and he told me to contact him in two weeks time...
Does anybody know how long the wait is, between the adjudicator and the Ombudsman taking their decision??
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
My Ombudsma decision came two weeks from the day the Ombudsman got the paper work from the adjudicator. So it depends when it landed on the ombudsmans desk!DS1 12/10/04

Hi there
It may take a little time, due to the amount of these complaints they are dealing with, and also in the queing system to be passed on to the ombudman.
However, if your in any financial hardship, you could contact them to tell them this, and to request if they can fast track this on to the ombudsman for you.;)
Hope you hear sooner rather than later, good luck.;)
Di
Do you think at this stage, are we talking weeks or months, before I hear the final decision from the Ombudsman?
Thanks a lot:j0 -
Thats fantastic, well done.
How long did it take you? I have been complaining about my PPI for 14 months. I just hope they get their finger out with my complaint. Been with the FOS for 12 months and still waiting for an adjudicator.
First I got all the SAR information.
I wrote two letters to Ocean and Firstplus (Ocean were the broker).
Ocean blamed Firstplus and vice versa.
Firstplus said they would also pass my complaint onto Ocean.
Ocean wrote back saying they didn't agree with all my complaint but would pay me out all the same.
I'm writing to both Firstplus and Ocean to find out exactly how much the settlement is before I accept the 'full and final' offer.0 -
Further to my post above, I`ve been trying to work out what my PPI refund WILL be like, based on the 30 Oct 2009:
1st payment made 30 June 2006 therefore 40 months of payments.
For simplicity I am working on a rough average APR of 10%, with steady PPI payments at £150 (again for ease of calcs).
Jun 06 PPI = £150, interest = (40 X £1.70) £68, total due £218 + 8% = £235
Jul 06 PPI = £150, interest = (39 X £1.70) £66, total due £216 + 8% = £233
Aug 06 PPI = £150, interest = (38 X £1.70) £64, total due £214 + 8% = £230
etc etc........
Am I along the right lines? That for the first 3 months of the loan my return on £450 in premiums is nearly £700. Thats how I believe PPI refunds will be calculated, so even if you only paid a few premiums a few years ago its still worth the claim.
I might produce an excel routine if enough ppl are interested, assuming I am correct of course. Can someone check this out for me?
My PPI element is 16.6% of the loan and my initial payments were £98.88 p/month including interest, I think.
I really struggle beyond that point, so I'm asking them to give me a full breakdown of the payout.
Once I get a reply, I'll post it on here in the hope that it helps others out!0 -
Hope the end to this saga is in sight EllBee. xx
Thanks Pinknico. Its certainly been a very loooooong road!!! 21 months from first contact with the FOS so probably almost 2 years including the horrible Loans.co.uk telling me they hadn't missold. Now they appear to be lying about sending out cheques................ !!!!!!
Hopefully the end's in sight though. I'll keep you all informed!!
Thanks for all your support and help.

Its quite difficult to say, because one of mine taken 14 months in total, and some can take even less that that, maybe once your case is passed on it will be a matter of weeks, fingers crossed.:beer:The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Sent Alliance & Leicester template letter from this site on 14/10/09 via recorded delivery.
Recieved a letter from them today offering to refund all PPI paid, just under £2000, inclusive of interest etc.
Great news for 10 mins & just writing a letter.
Now onto Barlcaycard, Egg, HFC, Capital One & Close Car finance.
I would've considered myself to be pretty financially savvy, however, I cant have been. Didnt realise I was being PORKED by all of the above. I never take these insurance options and am not sure how they made it onto my purchases.
Let battle commence. Its time for the lenders to smell crackling!0 -

Hi all,
Just recieved a letter from Sainsbury/Bank of Scotland - saying they had recieved my letter and can I call them to discuss more details of my complaint. Is this usual procedure? I am just concerned that everything should be kept in writing.
Also just sent letters on behalf of my parents to Halifax One credit card and Alliance and Leicester card. Fingers crossed.£10 a day 2015 Oct £131.38/£310
