    Hi Amersall,

I've sat and thought about this this morning and you're right, it makes sense to receive the PPI I've already paid, plus have my monthly repayments go down less what I would have paid.

The way the letter was written by Ocean was a bit confusing!

I'm going to write to both them and Firstplus asking for a breakdown of the figures/settlement before I agree to the full and final settlement though, so I know what to expect. I'm hoping to get just over £4k in a cheque though, for 42 payments plus the interest...

    Thanks for your reply!
your welcome. and once again congrats!!
  • hi i handed my template letter in last friday today i recieved a questionaire to fill in mostly asking some of the details i have already stated in the letter i gave. is this normal practice ? do i fill it in? ive never done this before please help in my letter i asked for 6 yrs policies to be looked at but i dont have details only the 1 i have now will this effect claim?

  • Hi Everyone

Received a letter from TSB today basically saying that altough they feel we were not mis-sold (which we DEFINATELY WERE) they are prepared to offer us a more favourable rate on our rebate as we cancelled the PPI. They have offered us under £180.00. I really think they have a cheek.

    Example loan was £12000 ?

    PPI + interest +8000

Why would we pay over 8000+ insurance to cover a 12000+ loan.
That means we would be practicaly paying the loan back again.
Anyway we cancelled the PPI, and had only had the loan for 9 months, they have given us a rebate so therefore they have charged us £4000 for 9 months worth of cover. we did not know when we got the loan that this was a one off premium with interest. i am definately going to follow up with FOS.

    Hello there

This seems to be becoming more common now, they may require the details if they no longer hold the information on you, if going back longer than 5/6 years, however, they may still even hold these details, but it is now probably procedure that they do this.
If you do not want to complete the questionnaire, tell them you have already provided them with the details, and they should still hold the details on you, and please refer to them.
If you do complete it, then write to the very best of your knowledge, they still have 8 weeks as from your original letter you sent, good luck and please let us know how you get on.;)

    Hi there

Its rare Lloyds TSB admit liability and in more cases than not, offer an offer of goodwill, but I agree with you, tell them your not happy with the offer and still believe you were mis sold, with the reasons you have already provided them with, and ask that they reconsider, if they do not, then it will be best to move this on to the FOS.

Good luck and please keep us posted.;)

    Hello and welcome.;)

Yes do carry on, that is just standard, in hope that you don't go any further.
Write back and tell them despite you signing the agreement, you still stand by your reasons as shown in your original letter and believe you were mis sold.
    Good luck.;)

Keep at them until they either uphold, or give you a final decision which should also enclose details of the financial ombudsman service (FOS), if your not happy with the outcome, you can take your complaint to the FOS for them to investigate this for you.
    Good luck.X
