Well I had my second complaint settled today for £1719 from alliance and leicester and didn't even have to go to the ombudsman. I simply wrote to them after 8 weeks giving them a final 14 days before i went to the ombudsman. They agreed to settle so I am well happy. That is over £3400 in 4 weeks so thanks for everyones support especially Di's.

  • I received an annual statement from Egg which stated that I had paid over £5000 for my PPI. I had phoned them a couple of years ago when I took control of my finances and contacted the CCCS and told them that I had been made redundant, I didn't even know I had PPI or I would have claimed!

Anyway, to cut a long story short, I downloaded the letter template, sent it off and got a letter 10 days later stating that my full cost was to be taken off my outstanding debt with them plus £800 interest!

I am well pleased with this thanks MSE!

    Hello everyone....

Well....last week I finally had my letter from the FOS:-))))) IT'S GOOD NEWS:-))))))) LLOYDS TSB HAVE TO PAY ME BACK MY 3 LOTS OF PPI (LUMP SUM POLICY THINGS ON 3 LOANS I HAD IN THE PAST):-)))))) AND, they are going to pay me back £200 compensation for any 'distress' caused!!!!!! Makes me laff though, as Lloyds say they still say they are in the right BUT they are going to pay me compensation for distress!! If you thought you were in the right you wouldn't do that would you?!

Anyhow...I don't know the exact amount yet but I have very very roughly worked it out to be about £8,500....So I am obviously over the moon.

I sent the letter to the FOS in February of this year so I know I am probably pretty lucky to get it sorted this quickly to as I know some of you have waited longer than that.

Thanks to Martin's advice on all this and you folks on the boards I have for once in my life come up trumps:-)))) And all for just printing off a few letters and filling out a form. Worth it I would say.

Thanks again to all of you who have given me advice and hope. Will let you know how much soon as I hear:-)

    OH HAPPY DAYS
Fingers crossed for everyone else in this process
