I succesfully got £1300 paid in to my bank account yesterday for a loan taken out about 4 years ago with Virgin MBNA.
I sent approx 3 template letters via Martins site although they were not interested,so of course i then approached the FOS who took over,took nearly a year from start to finish to get it all sorted out but was worth the wait.
Thanks Martin for your templates and advice from your tv programmes otherwise i probably would not have even bothered to do it.
Good luck to all who are going through the process,trust me its well worth the wait.

How long did it take it once it was referred to the ombudsman? Mine has been with them for about 3 weeks and I've just rang them and they've said it could take months! :-( My case is identical to yours.

I have been reading all these postings for months now and finally started writing to my lender Barclays in February. They sent me a compliant questionaire and i filled it in saying that their staff insisted that i took ppi otherwise i woudl get the loan

Refund cheque has come in of £4,389.06

Hi Guys
Wonder if you can help I got a loan for 19925.66 ppi was 7732.75 and interest it ran for 19 months and the settlement figure was 18494.59. They have offered me 2284.20 plus 8% 411.20 does these figures sound right.

I think it was about 2months from when it went to the FOS.

First of all congratulations :beer:
Do you mind if I ask how long it took to get the claim and if you had to go thru the FO?
My original claim against Barclays started last October and i've had to go thu The FO as Barclays were just dragging their heels saying they needed more time.An adjudicator found in my favour but Barclays disagreed with them so it went back to the FO (highest level) Again they found in my favour so Barclays will have to pay up this time .Not sure how much or how long it takes though. Just wondered how you got your result?CHEERS

Ask them to send you a full written breakdown on how they worked this out, they should send you these on request.;)
