Egg (now Barclays ) Credit card
    Claiming £1500
    Received £1500

All within 4 weeks, filled out form online to Barclays as I knew they had taken over Egg, got a text telling me they would contact me, then another saying I would receive a letter. I called them back gave all the details that I could remember.

After 1 week received a text saying payment has been approved and I will receive cheque within 10 days , 4 days letter cheque payment in full.

Thank you MSE big time, my second result.
  • I was positive I did not have PPI, as when asked about the product I always said I didn't want it. However, on advice of this website and family, claimed on old Barclays account, from 1988 to 2007, just received almost £12,000 back !! No argument, nor denials. Only took just short of 2 weeks from approaching Barclays, received very nice letter apologising for their mistake with the cheque and explanation of how it worked out. I've now claimed against other loans and credit cards, just in case PPI has been added there too, despite my ticking the "no" box. My advice, claim, even if like me you were under the impression you did not have PPI. I used the links and tool and template letters and haven't paid a penny to a Claims Company. :j

Brief history. When my husband died from cancer last year one of his pensions paid me a small discretionary lump sum. Not wanting to waste it I used it to convert the garage to an annexe to enable my daughter to have a bit more space and independence. On clearing the garage which was a horrendous job, we found old bank statements showing ppi back to the 1990s. With the use of resolver and guides from mse I made a claim and just a few months later I received a total of approx. £10000 refund. This has made life so much easier for me and my family and has also settled my annoyance about a useless ppi I had on an old credit card but I didn't think I would have been able to prove. Thank you MSE and Resolver. 😊

Just had a pseudo rejection from Santander regarding debenhams card ppi complaint they have asked for more info and proof of employment covered sick pay and proof of savings (I don't have proof it was my first job so don't have the contract anymore - 17 yrs ago) and my £6000 savings were cash. They have completely disregarded my primary reason for complaint that I was told I had to have it by an obviously commission hungry sales assistant at the till point and wouldn't let me progress with the application without ppi as I was 18??? No questions were asked regarding my circumstances/eligibility/cool off etc as is was a none issue - I apparently HAD to have it. Bit confused how that wasn't mis selling. Any advice guys? Loz

What were you reclaiming: 4 small Egg loans over a few years in the mid 90's
    Who was the provider: Egg
How much did you get back: £3179
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: Letter Template from this website!

It was so Simple and all within the time Frame. It's now 6 weeks and I received my offer 4 days ago. I am now just awaiting the cheque. I genuinely never believed I had PPI, so this came as a shock, plus I'm sooooo glad I did it myself I would have been devested to had 40% of it over!

Good Luck everyone fill your boots 👍😄
