Yes going to, but that means yet another delay to them actully paying out, taken three years so far,
So annoyed they wouldnt tell me when i asked how far their records went back and refusing the statements when I offered them
so moral to everyone keep going

With them already accepting redress they should do the calcs quite quickly, if they don't, go back to FOS.
Good luck and keep us posted.

Will certainly keep you posted, did speak to fos when they finally told me they had not gone all the way back, bit surprised by answer that fos had closed the case since Natwest had agreed to pay. If I am not happy with redress I will need to complain to fos again and they will look at it as a new complaint........ currently taking 24 months to deal with!!!!!!!!

Yes as Amersall said, if you can prove you paid it for longer then send them the records - did you not make it clear from the off that you had this proof? At the least you will get more interest due to the delay :)
yes rang them twice nd stated I had records back to begining but they said they couldnt tell me how far back their records went, and didnt really want to speak to me

It is, frankly, remarkable that they even considered paying this so well done on getting lucky - you got £6000 from a claim against the insurance and you still considered it miss-sold and they actually paid up - wonders never cease!

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

    Natwest loan
    Loan amount £2200
    Date of loan 1992
    redress offered £740
Applied for approx 10 days ago by post
still have account with them so I had account numbers

Had really good news from natwest yesterday. I had put a claim in for misselling a ppi on a loan back in 1992. DH had a text the day before to say a decision had been made and a letter would be following in up to ten working days. So I rang them yesterday morning and they have made an offer of £740! They are irritating me however because they will only deal with DH on this. Again he had to authorise them to speak to me yesterday. It's a joint account, was a joint loan and if we hadn't paid I'm sure they would have been happy to chase me for it!!

That was one of my complaints for misselling, because I was made redundant and tried to claim and we were told it was only the first named person who was covered for redundancy cover. DH has always been self employed and they had his business account at the time. If we had been made aware of that we would have switched the names around on the account.!

Did you make a claim on any part of the insurance? maybe unemployment, sickness etc.

Did you repay the loans early?. A rebate of the PPI may already have been given.

Did you have arrears on any of the loans?. If you did, they can take redress to clear these.

Any of the above would reduce the claim.

    Hi there thanks for reply..

No to any claim or arrears on loan accounts.. Not sure re the repaying early but I really don't think so. I sent letter to bank asking for a list of all accounts/loans etc linked to my name and previous addresses and the came back with 2 loans between 2000 - 2002 amount £267 and 2003-2005 amount £1591 .. I remember the last one was a car so that defo wasn't paid early.

If this is a comparative redress do they have to quote this as read on here RBS do this.

End of day I'm getting something back which is great :T however if it's £1014 out I want to know why.. Is it worth a phone call to ask how they calculated it?

Was the £267 and £1591 actual PPI or the loan amounts and do you have any paperwork?.
I would ask the bank for a breakdown of how they got to the calculation.

How was the car purchased, did you get a loan and then buy the car, or did you get the car from a dealer and RBS financed it?.
