Received letter from FOS this morning telling us they find in our favour that the PPI sold with my partners loan was mis-sold.
Originally complained to the bank in june 2008 and got the usual fob off letters so went to the FOS.My partner is self-employed so the policy was useless.
Now LLOYDS have got to put us back in the position we would have been in if the policy had not been sold. They have to calculate the amount of net payments made including interest and charges and add 8% interest on these payments. Plus we get £150 for the distress and inconvinience caused.
I would advise anyone thinking of reclaiming to go ahead. It can take a while but worth it in the end.

Hi everyone
I had a loan with Beneficial Finance, who are part of HFC, who are part of HSBC () . I know i paid PPI on the loan (in fact, 2 loans, I took one out, then a few years later when id been a "loyal and valuble customer" they offered me a better rate so i had another loan to pay off the original loan....
Anyway... I wrote to Beneficial asking for my account details as the loan is now paid off and i had shredded everything to do with that debt. They wrote back and gave me the details but also said I had been mis-sold PPI and would recevie a cheque within 6-8 weeks! I didnt even mention claiming it back in my letter!!
They have 2 weeks left to pay up! :j0 -

I decided about 3 months ago to attempt to reclaim my partners PPI she paid from a £5000 loan she took out with EGG in 2005, after reading MSE.
After a couple of letters we got a cheque through the post for £965, which obviously we are over the moon about as that goes straight towards savings for travelling.
As my partner paid off the loan in March 2008 in order to get a mortgage I want to check if we got anywhere near the correct amount. I need to factor interest in I would of thought so does anyone know an easy way to calculate the figure?
Also, has anyone been successful in reclaiming PPI on an EGG credit card or any credit card for that matter? EGG won't play ball as they say my partner ticked the box for PPI, but I still think that she was not fully aware of what taking out PPI really meant.
Is it worth pursuing to the FOS?0
