PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

  • Many thanks to all at moneysavingexpert and all on the forums for their advice on reclaiming Ppi.
I have been refunded £1314.86 from Egg after being mis-sold ppi on a loan in 2005.
After my initial complaint to them, they tried to fob me off by saying I made the ppi agreement online (which was a blatant lie).
I sent them another letter putting them straight about all the details and they then admitted I had been mis-sold.
From the first letter I sent until I received a cheque took about three months in total.
My advice to anyone trying to reclaim would be don't give up, they'll probably try to put you off at first but just keep going if you think you have a valid claim.

    Hi All,

Having taken out a loan with ABBEY in March 2006, I recently sent off Matins 1st letter requesting a repayment of all PPI charges + interest to date. (23rd March 2009). I didnt think I would hear back from them, let alone get a response..... However a week later they sent me a short questionnaire to fill out, which I did. To my surprise yesterday (14th April 2009) I recieved a formal letter from their complaints department, saying they have looked into my loan agreement, and were unable to see whether my PPI was sold correctly or not!!!! Running my eyes through the rest of the letter I was shocked to see they had offered me £3219.00 :j Can you believe it...as simple as that!

So I would just like to 'thank' all the people who had left previous reviews, telling me to apply as I had nothing to loose....

If anyone is out there reading this, then good luck. I hope your outcome is as happy as mine.:rotfl:
