Yes ... they replied and said they had received my "complaint" and that they would look into it ... next thing they all wrote back and said we have found in your favour and that was it .. three cheques ... and I was not even going to bother... my wife said why not try .. nothing to lose.

All done and dusted within a month

I have within the last couple of days sent off to barclays in the same fashion .. but I could not find any info or acc numbers ... just my name and address ... will they be able to trace my details ?
  • Got my cheque from Shopping Direct (Littlewoods catalogue)

Started my claim on 29th September via Littlewoods complaints process online.

Missed 2 calls but eventually managed to answer a phone call from them asking me to verify a few details of why I was complaining and then got a letter advising my complaint had been upheld and the cheque arrived yesterday.

So less than eight weeks to resolve and they kept me informed all the way.

    Just under £500 :T Yay

Phone them using the ppi numbers on this site , you won t need forms. Tell that you thought you wouldn't get the loan or would pay an extra premium if you didn't take out the PPI. Don't deviate or elborate that is enough !!! My wife and i got £21k doing this !! Good luck !!

Thanks for your advise and I will give then a call. :)

1 years ago I tried to get the ppi back off my Littlewoods credit card but I was unsuccessful. LAst month I received a statement showing how much ppi I had paid for the year even though I had asked them to cancel it when I put my claim in.

Because of this I wrote and asked them to look at it again. Just received a letter stating that they have reopend my claim and I should be getting a refund (this includes 8% interest) of 9.034.00.:T
  • Hi

I am a regular visitor to this site but this is my first time posting. It's been great seeing all of you with successful claims. I have received a letter from Halifax saying that they uphold my complaint and are refunding my premiums in full but I totally disagree with the amount. I have accepted as partial settlement but would be grateful for help on how to calculate at the correct amount should be so that I can compare it with whatever they come back with.

    Details
In 2005 I took out a 10k loan with PPI of just under 3.8k added. My monthly repayments were 275.50 for 60 months. I settled the loan 24mths later with a second Halifax loan.

They are offering me 441 of premiums plus 88 interest paid and interest at 8%. Total offered for loan 1 is 815 pounds. They have also offered 276 for loan 2 as an excess balance I would not have paid if it wasn't for the ppi.

This seems very low to me, especially as I only received a rebate of 120 when I settled the loan and I calculate the monthly premium that I paid due to the ppi to be 75.

Can anyone refer me to a calculator/spreadsheet that could help me to work this out.

    Thanks

They're offering you only what they have to. You don't get more just because you're using the original figures, andthey are using the actual figures.
You paid the loan off 3 years early, so would have recieved a rebate at the time.

  • Thanks Taff.

The rebate I received was for just under 120 pounds. This doesnt seem to justify why the amount offered is so low. Based on what I paid to the date of settlement I paid 1800 extra due to ppi (75 x 24). I can't understand where they would get a figure of 441 from. I know the best thing to do is wait and see but was just hoping for some ideas.

In that case, either phone or ask them to show how they worked out the rebate.
They should have included a breakdown of how this was achieved in your letter.
Did the ssecond loan have PPI on it?

  • I have contacted them and asked for a breakdown but have a feeling I will have to wait a while for the response. There was no ppi on the second loan but they took into account the fact that I had to borrow more than I would have were it not for ppi on loan 1.
