What were you reclaiming: PPI on loan

Who was the provider: Lloyds TSB

How much did you get back: Over £3,500.00

Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: Put claim form into the FSA

And then write your brief reclaim tale
Sent the 2 template letters from this site amended to suit my reasons for claiming. Both replies from Lloyds rejected claim. I then dithered for quite a while but got the FSA claim form sent before the deadline. That was September. Have just had settlement paid into my bank account including £200 compensation! I,m so glad that I found this site, as Martin says all they can say is no and all you lose is the price of a couple of stamps. Thank you very much Martin, if I can do it anyone can.:j :A

Congratulations Liggy, Well done to you. :T

Can I just add that I found the FSA very helpful and efficient - they kept me fully informed every step of the way.

I took out a loan with Alliance & Leicester in 2005 for 5 years to pay a car. I used Martin's template letter and received back £3260. Plus my payment have been lowered by £79 per month. I also previously had a loan with them which I repaid in 2005. I again used template letter and received £2600.
    Well done Malbar:beer:

  • Hi, has anyone had any dealings with the Information Commissioners Office, I just want to know how long they take for complaints.

I didn't receive a response to my SAR request from Halifax and GE Money, and now its with ICO as its gone over 40 days...

So was just wondering how long the ICO takes...

Hi Have not had personal dealings with ICO but have been told that it is better to ring in the first place. If you write it takes ages:confused:

eAm sure somebody on here will be able to tell us.

    Hi Mel

You will get all your PPI back plus all the interest plus 8% per year. What they mean is that they will put you back into the position as if you had never had the insurance.

    Well done to you.:D

    Hi all

This is what my letter from Halifax said, so I am presuming (hoping!) it includes 8% interest.

My question is, if you have no paperwork relating to the credit card in question, when they come back with a figure that puts you back in the position as if you never took it out, how do you know it's the correct one?? :o Thanks!

  • Hi all just wanted to let you know my husband took a credit card out with halifax in 1999 and was paying ppi which he cancelled in about 2003 -2004 about 8 weeks ago i sent off one of martins letters to reclaim it and within 2 weeks he had a letter saying they had received it then about a week after that he had another letter saying they were paying out with interest but did not confirm how much then about 2 weeks ago a nice little cheque for £2152 came through the door result and i cant believe how quick it all happened.

    Hi ChineseCurry

I too have had the letter from Halifax saying to expect a cheque. How long did it take from that letter to receiving the cheque? Thanks!!
