    Hi

Those people who have had recent successes through the FOS on here.................can you let me know how long you had to wait from sending in your complaint to the FOS?

I sent mine in last January 2008 and am still waiting for it to be allocated to an adjudicator!!

    Hi there hun

Due to the high volumes of these complaints as they are so far at its highest, it can take anything from a few weeks to a few months, even a year or more if the case is complexed.
This is obviously from when its passed on to an adjudicator.

I would keep in touch with them regularly and if your financial circumstances have worsened, this seems the case recently for most, then let them know, they may consider moving your case on quicker for you, good luck hun and hope you hear very soon.

One of mine taken 14 months to when it was resolved and the other approx 9 months from start to finish, this can also depend if the other party deal with this and resolve this at an early stage as well.
I think it depends who's desk they end up on as well, as some work part time to what I know of.

But some however, have been lucky to have their's resolved within weeks of having their cases moved on, lets hope this will be the case for you.;)

I posted last week or so to say that one of my husband Lloyds TSB (Credit Card) PPI was resolved through the FOS, his adjudicator been in touch to say that it should be next week that my hubby should hear of the other one, again an older Credit Card ppi, and the adjudicator have given his view that it should be upheld, so fingers crossed.

This one he is waiting for a for a nicer amount to what we are aware of.

(Think I did mention about this last week), but it was nice of them to send my hubby an email just to clarify the situation of where they are with them right now.;)

    So watch this space..................:D

    Hi :o
We received a letter from the halifax yesterday stating that they "will pay us an amount that will put us back in the position we would have been in had we have not taken out the insurance".
Not really sure what it means and what we will get back but it sounds good to me lol.

This was for ppi that we believed to have been missold on a £7000 loan taken out in 2006.
The whole process has only taken 5 weeks and we only sent the first template letter.
Thank you to everyone on this site for you're help.

  • We have finally heard from the F/O that Barclays will be paying back all the PPI +interest +8% ontop... it's taken us over 13 months from start to finish, including using Martin's templates........so soon it will finally be over, and are we glad.

The PPI was added to my hubbys credit card, whilst we were away on a family holiday in Turkey, but we never realised, cos I just paid the min balance on statement via online banking. It wasnt til I was going to pay off the whole card that I questioned PPI with my hubby...on investigating with Barclaycard, they had added it 4 yrs earlier !!

Not quite sure what the pay back to him will be, as each month the balance on card was different, but as we were doing up a house we did use the card alot...

Thankfully, we were right along, and this has been proven at last.... I'd like to Thank Martin for this website and the help it provides.:T

    regards

Mel Well done and Congratulations, great work.
    :T

Basically if this loan is still active they will refund you all the ppi you paid and interest up until you cancelled PPI, if the loan is settled, they will repay the whole amount of ppi plus interest.
So its putting you back in the postion as if you did not take out ppi from the start.;)

    Hope this helps.:D
    Well done to you.:T
