    Hello all,

I am an avid reader on this forum but this is my first post...My partner phoned Lloyds tsb on 1st May 2012 for mis sell of ppi. He is claiming for 2 loans and a cc. A week later he received a letter for each claim to say they are investigating and will aim to resolve this within 60 days. last week he received a phone call on his mobile from a "private number" asking for more info as to why he believes he was mis sold for the cc ( he has full cover with work and was never asked about his work benefits) we have not heard anything further for the loans. has anyone else received phone calls in between and is this a good or bad sign?

Well done everyone for fighting for ppi by the way, and a BIG thank you to "Dizzy" Di and the team. Everyone on here are so helpful and Martin deserves a knighthood :)

    Hi

I have been reading this site with great interest for the past few months & have finally been inspired to do something about FP PPI.

I took a loan out with them in Sep 2002 for £51,000 with PPI of £10,164. I cslled their PPI helpline & was told that I had settled the loan in Jan 2004 but the settelment figure was £63,327.46. The guy I spoke to told me that because I had steeled early I had paid off all of the PPI, he mentioned nothing about a rebate & the settlement figure was very high given that I had paid about £400 a month 16 months & only borrowed £51,000 .

I then said that I'd like to raise a complaint as I was told that i couldn't get the loan without the PPI & that I had a very genourous sickness package, I tried to give the guy a lot of detail however he wasn't interested in the detail & said that not wanting or needing the PPI was reason enough! I completed the complaint over the phone but also sent the PPI questionairre in which I gave full details of complaint. The guy said that they were clearing complaints quite quickly & I would get a reply in about 4 weeks. I asked if I had gone via a broker & her said yes, it was Smart quotes ltd (he couldn'y tell me if the company still existed?). I asked how this woulkd effect my complaint & he said the acknowledegement letter would detail that. This morning I received the acknowledgement letter but it mentioned nothing of broker, is this a good sign?

Also, if the complaint were upheld would someone give me a ball park figure of what I'm likely to receive.

    Many thanks in advance

hi Al girl i have just put a complaint in to FP and have received a acknowldegment letter back with the broker's contact number, and FP have told me to contact (loans direct) for the mis sold ppi.:(

    Hi there

I have just received a letter with details of a refund offset against a claim that had been made and paid out on the policy.
Am i correct in assuming that this is the correct way for this to be calculated or should i be considering going after the premiums that have been offset by the claim payout aswell.
    Many thanks for any advice.

    Help!!!

I have been writing to Clydesdale Bank since November 2011 requesting details of my loan starting in 1999 and finished spring 2007, I do not have the account number (and I’m trying my own bank from my direct debit) and have provided a copy of my credit report showing my address, loan to Yorkshire bank, date opened and balance in January/ February 2005, I paid £160.00 per month so the loan was settled spring 2007.

I have received responses several details after my SAR request stating "please be advised that due to a passage of time we no longer hold any information in relation to your accounts".

My question is how long a bank should hold your information, at the time of writing the expiry of the loan would be less than five years, I get the impression I’m being fobbed off. Any advice would be helpful, FOS or CEO direction maybe?

    PPI successes to date

    Lloyds Bank Loan - £5400.00
    MBNA CC £4600

    To be claimed

Just wanted to say thanks! Wouldn't have bothered about it, but reading here made me do it. Claimed from Alliance & Leicester / Santander, for a loan that I HAD to take PPI on. They have now settled, in full, for the amoount of the PPI plus interest.

Thanks to all on the site...especially Martin.

Can I ask are there any HSBC MPPI successes?

Hi - i have one in at the mo and their 8weeks is up today. Other than the holding 'sorry your complaining, we're looking into it' letter I have heard nothing back.

i tried to call their regulated sales complaints dept (whose number was on the letter) but on ringing it you just get an automated message that tells you to ring the number you have just dialled and then cuts you off - really annoying!! Spoke to someone at the general HSBC call centre who said Id never get through directly to the complaints team - very helpful :(

Anyway, fingers crossed. Will keep you posted!

Still waiting for the cheque from Lloyds TSB for my mortgage PPI. In their offer letter sent 5 weeks ago they calculated interest up to 1st June but still no cheque. Spoke to them today and they said a cheque has been raised but will probably be another 7 - 10 days before I get it!!
Am getting pretty p'd off with the length of time it's taking them to pay up!!
    Success so far:

Bank charges refund plus interest: over £6000 :j
Mortgage PPI refund plus interest: over £9000 :j

I had a total of 5 loans between 1999 and 2001 (consolidation chain loans) and managed to pay the load off in full in 2004. Thought I'd have a go at re-claiming PPI. Sent off a claim form on April 17th , and still hadn't heard anything , so decided to call Welcome Finance for an update. I was informed that my accounts are 'time barred' meaning they were all started before the Feb 2003 deadline. The advisor said I could take it to the FSO but they would likely reject my claim as well.
