· Whatwere you reclaiming: Credit Card
· Who wasthe provider: RBS
· How muchdid you get back: £430
· Did youget it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: Phonecall
I telephoned the RBS PPI credit card department, who took my details and said they would look into this, Four weeks later I received an letter saying they would give me £430 as a good will gesture, I signed the acceptance then two weeks later the check arrived.
· Whatwere you reclaiming: Loans
· Who wasthe provider: RBS
· How muchdid you get back: £3911
· Did youget it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: Local branch
I went into my local branch and asked the customer advisor to check my PPI on loans I had taken out, she done this and informed me that I had taken out seven loans between 2002 – 2007, which had PPI on them, Then she said she would fill in allthe details and send off the PPI reclaim sheets to RBS PPI department, I opened up my mail on Saturday and I have seven successful PPI reclaims totalling up to £3911. I will accept these and have the checks in the next two weeks.
This was a very easy process, all i did was speak to my local branch who done everything for me and then sign the acceptance letters, it cost me noting and was very easy.:j
Thank you moneysavingexpert as it was on here I found out you can deal with PPI directly through the bank.
The reason i was mis-sold the PPI in the first place was because the customer advisor told me i would not get any Credit if it was not insured and that if i die the debt would be passed onto my next of kin which is not true for a personal loan.0 -
Help please.
I've been pursuing a ppi reclaim and recieved a letter in march 2012 upholding my complaint but have not received an offer from LCUK yet. Has anyone ever been paid out by LCUK and what is a reasonable time to wait for an offer?
Thanks0 -

Congrats on the win :j:j:j
Give them a ring and ask what the delay is, tell them you will put a complaint into FOS if they do not hurry this along.0 -

They are dragging their heels I am afraid, give them until Friday and ask what the delay is and if they send you any more texts
" to keep you on your toes" you will put a complaint into the CEO and the Financial Ombudsman.0 -

· Whatwere you reclaiming: Loans
· Who wasthe provider: Lloyds TSB
· How muchdid you get back: 16,530
· Did youget it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: Having got a full history of my wife's loans dating back to 2001 we noticed that initial two loan agreements had the PPI option pre-ticked ( a few days before my wife had actually signed the agreement. Subsequent loan agreements were different in format, requiring a date and signature below a statement opting in to the PPI. However, coupled with the hardselling nature of the face to face interviews with the Lloyds representatives of the first two loans, we decided that the pre-ticked loan agreements had set the foundations for what over the last ten years apperaed to have been a systematic connivance to create an attitude towards PPI whereby its necessity, appropriateness and its very legitimacy were unquestionable.
After letters to Lloyds regarding 4 seperate loans we received a letters acknowledging complaint and that they would investigate and rply shortly.
Two months later we recieved a letter saying the complaints had been upheldand that a settlement figure of just under £17000 had been arrived at - taking into account a further two loans.
As my wife banked and had outstanding loans with lloyds we received the money within two weeks. My wife is now debt free and was very grateful to her husband ;-)
We worked out that around £5,000 had been added due to the 8% statutory interest (not sure how much we'll need to give to jonny taxman though).
Thank you MSE and to all those who have posted re: PPI claims. A good understanding of the process and and the machinations of banks' misselling PPI has undoubtedly contributed to our success. The future is brighter (and my wife is still expressing her appreciation). Thanks again.

Need some advice after having a few successful ppi claims upheld, I advised my mum to try. She got a letter back a couple of days ago saying that her claim had been rejected. This is the first letter she has had back from the bank. It was for a credit card she took out with RBS 11 years ago and the ppi is still running. The letter included the application form that was filled in at our local RBS branch. The ppi boxes have been ticked on the form but the writing on the form is not her had writing. She only signed and dated the form. What should she do next?
Also I have the 16 digit number for my Egg credit card that I took out back in 2002 and closed in 2005. Who do I contact as I know Egg now belong to Barclaycard and does anyone have the phone number I should call.
I aslo had a Virgin credit card that was opened in 2000 and closed in 2005. How do I find out the 16 digit number?
Thanks for the help.0
