    Hello all,

First time post from somebody who's been lurking long enough to gain enough knowledge to submit a (as of this week) successful claim to HFC bank. Thanks to everyone of you whom have shared your experiences.

Just my quick take on all of this .. I think that the terms 'winning' and references to being lucky etc are incorrect -

I propose that you think of these claims as just getting back what is rightfully yours, and that these banks have been exploiting all of us with these useless insurance schemes for years, they have even been creaming more interest from them on top of their established interest terms, and miss informing us that these schemes are a pre-requisite to getting any financial input at an often vulnerable time.

Rant almost over, please get back what is yours and don't think it's a matter of luck.

    Well done to you!:T:beer::T

  • :jjust got £1681 back from and old credit card I had with MBNA

did not have to write a letter just rang their 0800 joining number and tell them I think I was miss sold

I did not have the account numbers but remember signing for the card from a seller in a stand in a motorway services told them that the seller had informed me ppi was a condition of the card.

they found the details and filled all the paperwork over the phone

so £1681 from a free phone call seems a pretty good deal to me

looks like MBMA have realised the game is up and paying out
if you ever banked with then get the claim in now :rotfl:

  • Hi mickymonney,

    Congratulations on your win:beer:

Would you mind telling me how long did take for you to get your decision please, as I have complaints in with Blackhorse at the moment.:)

I had to wait about 4 weeks until they sent me a questionnaire to fill in and then 2 weeks after I posted that back, I got the letter of offer.

Husband had a phone call last night, this was the conversation

'We notice you have had loans and credit cards we can claim all your ppi back'

'I am ok thank you I am doing the claims myself'

'Do you know if you claim yourself the success rate is very low our success rate is very high'

'Don't think so mate just had my first success'
Hubby then put the phone down.

The cheek of them they need to look at this wonderful site and great advice we get for FREE:D
  • Big thank you to all on this site - had three successes this week (lloyds, HSBC and Yorkshire). Because we had read on here the tactics used by Lloyds we were prepared.

But still waiting outcome of two CC complaints, Santander and Barclays and they seem to be dragging their feet.

Now considering researching my mortgage over the years, sure this had PPI added to it in the early years.

Thanks Mickymokey(I got your name right this time):D

    That's very fast.

I received my letters saying they had got my complaints last weekend and I found another loan that I had forgotten about and sent that on tuesday. Fingers crossed I won't have to wait too long.
  • Had my nice shiny cheque for £5198 from MBNA through the letter box this morning :T:j:T:j Shame bank is closed so got to wait till monday to bank it. :p

I am really impressed, from 'upheld' letter to receiving the cheque was 4 days. :T

  • Good Morning,

This is my first time on this forum.

I have had a letter from MBNA credit card who say no to upholding my ppi claim.

There state that i have PPI with them from the 11th Dec 2001 at my request. But i do not remember agreeing to this policy and think this policy was added with out my knowledge. There also state i was eligible to have this insurance, by being employed/uk resident and age between 18 and 70.
But there have not provided any proof to me.... how i agreed to this insurance.

    This was there final reponse.

I have now passed this on the FOS around two weeks ago.
