Sharon,
Yes I would say they are just trying to fob you off, they sold you the insurance so therefore if you feel you were misrepresented or mis sold the insurance for the usual reasons then the fault lies with them, I'm only taking this from previous messages on these threads. Thanks to all the competition posters.0 -
lemonhead,
yes pure and simple they missold to you by not asking medical questions even though you made them aware.
Time to make them pay!!Thanks to all the competition posters.0 -
cider66,
Yes claim against them, if you read the full article and decide how that you were missold then send the letters keeping a note of the timelines, if required for 2nd letter etc. Thanks to all the competition posters.0 -
yee-ha! HSBC (bain of my life) initially declined my request for PPI refund and soon after taking it further with the Ombudsman i promptly received a letter from HSBC saying that they would settle the claim (minus the request for additional interest.. perhaps i should've pushed my case a little further but am i just being greedy?!! any suggestions?)... too bloody right, how dare they claim to have done nothing wrong- the person who wrote to me wasn't even there at the time the loan was taken out! the cheek. am still skint as paid off credit card with the refund payment (was not eligible for balance transfer- tried that one!!) so i guess in the long- run we have a positive outcome! thank you martin lewis you are a gem.:A:mad: Hindsight is a wonderful thing...
:j One of Mike's Mob! yea!!!
Finally settled full balance of RBS personal loan ahead of schedule on 10th August 2010 :money:
DEBT FREE AT LAST... BUT FOR HOW LONG?! :eek:0 -
thanks smitchy, i now understand more after i listened to martins video, so i am going to send a letter, i have someone helping me with the letter.
I was also woundering, i am currently not paying 4 cards for GE money and have been asking for reduced payments which they have not yet received but they are still charging my PPI, i noticed GE was one of the companys on the list who was fined, and on martins video he said if its on the list you can claim, i was thinking of doing this and asking for any refund to be taken of the amount i owe them, but then think they could just make it worse and not give me my reduced payments that i have asked for. stupid isnt it, they have refused my reduced payments with £500 on a card yet tesco visa have accepted my offer and i got 7k on that card.0 -

halifax (hbos) agreed to settle on december the 19th 2007, they haven't said how much but agree we were mis-sold. how long should we wait and what should we do if they continue to stall.
Their last letter saidwe are currently reviewing the way in which we calculate redress payments for loans that have been previously settled
is this just a delaying tactic.
any advice greatly appreciated
thanks

I have have deals with this company over the last 3 year with a total of 5 loans.
I sent away 5 of the template letters away to them, knowing that my most recent loan didn't have insurance.
Needless to say with in a week I got a letter back about my most recent loan saying I did not have insurance and a complete print out of this loan.
3 months on I've still not had any correspondence about the other 4 loans.
Can I just say I sent the claim forms in 5 separate envelopes and posted them all at the same time.
I've also now realized after going through everything I've been paying interest on the insurance and on there handling fee every month.
That can't be right

HELP WITH HALIFAX PPI
Hi , i took out a loan with the lovely Halifax in jan 04 for 5 yrs for £6000 + ppi , i then took out a larger loan for £10400 1yr later. the original loan was paid off with this and the new one started ,both had ppi added right at the start of the loan my question is ... can i claim back the ppi on the 1st loan which was paid off with the 2nd new loan after only running for 1yr ?? and as im now unable to keep up the repayments and am on reduced payments to them through CCCS im claiming a mis sell on the current one due to not being told of exemption of pre existing medical conditions which they refused to pay out on after major surgery in aug 2006 how does it work if the refund me does it come off the amount i owe or does the fact im not making full payments change the normal outcome ?? sorry ive gone on a bit but panicking slightly !!!:EasterBun GRAB EVERY OPPERTUNITY YOU GET ..YOU DONT KNOW HOW LONG YOUR HERE FOR0 -
