I have a claim again barclaycard was egg for mis sold ppi on a credit card. I called for an update on several occasions and it is always the same response that it's up to day blah blah of 40 and that they will respond by 16 th march...has anyone else received there final response before the 40 days are up or does it seem likely that at day 40 I will receive an automatic rejection letter0

Hi
Wishing you luck.
If it goes on and on, contact your local MP who may write to them on your behalf, it has been known to help some on here.
I have not had direct dealings with this bank myself but there are many on here who have and sure to post in due course.
Fingers crossed on your reclaiming.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Not good news i'm afraid, I spoke with barcleycard today, I was was told I would receive a response by 8th march, when I spoke to them today, they said they are waiting for information from egg, fot lots of customers and couldn't give me a time line, they said they sent a letter on the 7th (not got yet) to advise me to go to the FOS to progress the claim, it's so annoying I was paying approx £60 per month for 5 years and was hoping for a cheque rather than another fob off!I have a claim again barclaycard was egg for mis sold ppi on a credit card. Oh they are naughty on my last call they said we've received the original application and it's just waiting to be processed to the next stage and it's day blah de blah so by day 40. I keep telling them each time I call that other financial institutions have responded by now. My gut feeling is that it won't be good news0 -
Came home to a letter today from Black Horse they are paying out on my claim. £11,000.00+ lets just see how quick they pay!!! Happy days

What were you reclaiming: Credit card
Who was the provider: Bank of Scotland
How much did you get back: £5364.74
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: Requested a copy of the original application then sent in the questionairre downloaded from MSE.
And then write your brief reclaim tale: In November I was going through some old statements and realised I was paying PPI on a BOS credit card. I've had the card around 12 years, and every statement I went through showed a monthy PPI payment, it was classed as 'Repayment cover'. After receiving the original paperwork I sent aware for, it turns out they had recommended the cover and never advised I could get it anywhere else. Sent away my complaint, they acknowledged it within two weeks and advised I had to take ID into a branch to update my address details on their system (they didn't have my current address listed even though they have been sending statement to it for over 5 years!).
I didn't hear anything back in the 12 weeks timescale, so gave them a call. Turns out the claim was approved on Dec 28th and passed for processing, then a cheque was sent on 11th Jan. I never received the confirmation letter or the cheque, so they chased this up to re-issue. Letter arrived last week, still nothing on the cheque although they've said it should be sent within the next 14 days.
The whole process has been fairly simple and easy enough to complete. Always worth having a look at any old cards or loans, always a chance you've been paying PPI. Also realised I was paying it on a MBNA card that closed a few years ago, so starting the process to make a claim on that as well :j :beer:0 -

Over the years I had had 4 loans with Welcome finance, I got in touch with them aboout the PPI on all the loans.. they said that they could not look at 3 of them as they were before 2004. They did give me over £1200 back within weeks, stating this was because they could not prove that I had been miss sold the insurance. They gave me the contact address and number for Aviva Insurance as they were the company held responsible before 2004. I wrote them a letter just stating as above that Welcome had told me to contact them as before 2004. I had a letter accepting recieving the letter. Then today I had a letter from them saying that although they admitted being responsible for the insurance and " I was one of a small number of customers who had recieved a misprinted insurance document that stated that Welcome Finance were acting as our agents in relation to insurance " they also say that if I had made a claim it would have been honoured as I was covered by the policy.
It then goes on to say that.. they had asked Welcome for a copy of the loan agreement, which they could not provide due to passage of time.. but that they did provide a specimen document !! Then states that because I was within age range of the cover and employed then I was "clearly eligible for the loan cover " And no reason to suspect that the policy was unsuitable for my needs...!!
Considering they have only seen a specimen agreement..They state that "I was provided with the policy terms and conditons as YOU signed the loan document to confirm the leaflets had been provided " Also they say I was given a copy of the insurance and also told about the cooling period.
So, they could not uphold the complaint as they were not satisfied it was mis-sold or unsuitable to my needs at that time..
All of this based on a letter I sent stating I was making a compliant...they never asked about what happened, never sent me a questionare, never asked for my side.. just went ahead and concluded. I called them on reciept of the letter and spoke to "Matt" who told me that at the end of the day I had a choice to sign or not to sign and as only 2 people in the room and they would never know the conversation.. !!!!
What strikes me most is that the reason that Welcome upheld the complaint and paid out is the very reason Aviva is not paying out ... any advice guys, I have already set wheels in motion with FOS. But surely, this is wrong guys ?? Oh and at the time my work covered me for being of with sickness on full pay for 6 months and then at a slightly reduced rate also fully covered for redundancy as well, which the sales person was aware of as I kept telling him he just moreor less implied that I would get the loans more favourably if I signed the insurance as well ...0
