Hi, I've been reading this thread for a while now and it's encouraging to see the many successes. I wrote to Lloyds TSB at the beginning of June this year and have just received a reply rejecting my claim. I was sure it would be upheld. I explained that it was strongly suggested i wouldn't get the loan without PPI and also the lending rate would be a lot higher if we refused it. I remember at the meeting telling them I'd found alternative insurance far cheaper. They rejected the claim because they say they acted fairly towards us and that the cover was suitable for our needs. I'm not sure what to do next, to write to them again or forward it to the FOS. I'd be grateful for any help, thank you.
Hi there
Sometimes they will review/reconsider, you could ask them to do so by 14 days, tell them if you hear nothing by then you will continue to complain further.
Ask them to reconsider and try to give them as much more info as you can, tell them the PPI was not sold fairly and to be told you had to have the PPI to have the loan you now know its so wrong, tell them the staff had a responsibility to treat you fairly and you feel the policy was not sold in your best interest.
Tell them you have a good mind to also contact the FSA the regulator about this matter, and say if you've not heard by 14 days with a change of decision you will be doing so as well as complaining to the FOS.
Good luck, keep at them.

Hi Di,
I phoned them and they have reopened my claim. I just dont understand why they can reply within two weeks for CC but loan one i havent heard a thing except for confirmation letter at the beginning. The letter did say that it was a final decision but that seems not to be the case. The HBOS ones i have heard nothing except the initial letter saying 12/16 weeks etc
Regards
K
Hi
Glad to hear they are looking into this again, good for you.
I believe the CC PPI maybe dealt with by a different section to that of the Loan PPI, but keep at them and ask them on when you should hear of an update.
Same on the HBOS, good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

It's great seeing lots of success!
It's been a week since MBNA asked for an extra 7 days to look again at my rejected complaint and guess what, they've just asked for another 7!
Something makes me think, that this time next week they'll be asking for another 7 :rotfl:
Hiya

Hi All
Been reading all these stories about reclaiming ppi, so made a claim against first plus for a loan that was taken out in 2001 and closed in 2008. They have rejected the claim because they used a broker for the ppi, and because the broker was not a member of the FSA at that time they are not responsible, also they are claiming the claim is now time barred. any advise welcome please.0
