Finally got my offer letter from HFC yeasterday total refund is £5599.
Once they clear my account they will pay £2369 in to my bank account and from this month on i will be £411.00 a month better off.
Have now got a claim with them on a loan i took out before this one and hopefully they will refund me the PPI on that one as well.

    Time to treat the kids.
  • Neither of our payouts so far have mentioned tax. What is the calculation for it? I'm assuming you only pay tax o the intrest, as surely you've already paid income tax on the rest?

    HSBC Success!!!!

I put in my claim at the beginning of May and had a letter yesterday saying they are going to uphold my compliant. They are going to refund me £19,135.35 of which they are saying the gross interest is £5,205.08 but isn't that a bit high? I am absolutely over the moon!!!!!!
Thanks for everyone's help on here!!!
Hi cld, not really, they were charging you interest on all your ppi payments at the same rate the card interest rate was set at so it's not unusual for the interest to be awarded at this level.

Well done on your win, congratulations, don't spend it all at once though:D
Thanks to all the competition posters.

thought i would share the happy news i got today, i managed to claim back my missold ppi from the Clydesdale. All in it took 10 weeks and i could not have done it without the help from here and i am so glad i never got one of those companies to do it for me as it was so easy.:j

Anyway i had 2 loans and they gave me the following breakdown

    loan 1
    ppi refund £1233.59
    8% interest £787.79
    total £2021.38

    loan 2

    ppi refund £4673.09
    8% interest £1362.75

    total £ 6035.84

So over 8 grand back for the cost of a stamp:D

One question the letter talks about tax maybe payable in the interest refund, is this correct and how much will i have to give the tax man and do i need to tell them?

Once again many thanks to all you folks on here:beer:
    :j:jExcellent

    SUCCESS HSBC

As many people are I have been a watcher on here since May and only posted once so far. I have been dying to be able to post a success.

I tried to convince my OH to try and claim back his missold ppi before the judgement but he couldn't be bothered! So then the judgement came in I asked him again and he agreed. I also complained about the ppi on his credit card too. We sent the first letter around May 17th and received the usual standard replies.

We heard back for the credit card beginning of august and they offered too little so I've sent that off to the FOS. It is only for a few hundred (not that that is to be sniffed at), but every penny counts and they are not diddling him out of anything he is owed!

So anyway I keep an eye on here every day and see all the successes and have noticed this week when loads of HSBC were coming on. And then...

I get home today to find that he has had it upheld and is offered

    £9646

    wooowwwww!!!!

I was expecting about £7900 so I am so over the moon.

The best thing about it, is that we are a couple in our late twenties with a young child, both earning a decent wage and saving like mad and have saved £8000 in a year. We can now add to that and also spend a bit and have some fun and we will be able to put down at least a 10% deposit on a house. Admittedly it is HIS money but he wouldnt have got it without me so I also think I deserve a little shopping spree and a holiday as a thankyou don't you agree :-)

I hope the banks have learnt their lesson. My OH was only young when he took a loan out for £15000. £5700 was ppi and about £5000 was interest. He was paing it off for the whole 6 years we were together until last year. He was and still is in full time employment with the same company and told me he was told that he would not get the loan if he didn't take it out, and his age and the amount he wanted was a factor in this.

I wish everyone on here the best of luck, thank you to everyone for their posts it really does help people even when they don't post back

Oh dear, second rejection letter from Egg (re Credit Card) yesterday. What now, complaint to the FOS? Fill out the questionnaire then wait? Doing same with my Capital One claim (credit card). Nothing still from M&S money. One success to date (First Direct £5,300). Waiting for settlement, sent acceptance forms back last Monday. Has anybody out there suceeded with Egg via FOS after initial rejection? The info on this site is invaluable, thanks to you all. I am getting a bit addicted now. So glad I made that claim against FD!
:jWell done on First Direct win :j:j:j:j

You could take the Egg one to FOS,make sure you have left nothing out on your reasons for mis sell.
Was this the final response from Egg?,if it wasnt,if you post up why they are rejecting,we can help with this.
