Sorry to give this a bump, but I'm hoping the calculation experts might cast their eyes of the LTSB vs my calcs regarding the simple interest payments. Am I misunderstanding the calc and outcome?

    Thanks again one and all

    Phil

    Me again

I've spoken with LTSB and they have assured me their calcs are correct for this. They also advised me that the Interest at 8% is not against the refund of the premiums BUT the repayments made by me over the period the loan has been running so it looks I'll await a lovely large cheque which should in most part pay off the outstanding amounts reducing my debt dramatically....time to take on the credit card ppi...

Congratulations to all that have won so far! I am ever so grateful about the help I got from the MSE forum and continue to get everyday! Did anyone get this letter from Barclays today :

"You will have recently received a letter confirming the date by which we will provide a full response to youe complaint. We are currently on track to meet all our response deadlines. We are, however, dealing with a large number of PPI enquiries in addition to our normal customer service activity and our call centres are currently experiencing higher than usual call volumes. Please be aware that if you contact us by telephone to check the progress of your PPI complaint we will not be able to give you any further information about your complaint. Please be assured that we are on track to respond to your, in writing, within the timescales previously advised. If you would like more general information on PPI full details are available on our website at www.barclays.co.uk/PPIinformation."

Are we politely being told to stay away till 31 August? Wondering what the forum thinks about this? Sounds dodgy to me, like the 31st dealine wont be met!

    Hi

Im not too sure about my refund and which ruling it would have fallen into. I have tried to contact the customer services but unable to get through (especially as Im sneaking out at work to make the call). My claim was settled through FOS and Lloyds sent me a letter to say they will be making me a refund however they didnt say how long it would be. Anybody got an idea.

    Michelle

I would like to think it will be within 28 days ;)

I have just spoken to the FOS because I put my claim into Barclays in August 2010 and have only just recieved a letter confirming they will offer to settle my claim. I rang FOS to say I would except and they said that they will let Barclays know I except in TWO WEEKS on the 29th August because that is how they process the claims! The banks then have 8 weeks to act upon this although he did say this was a guide and it could take longer, but if I hadnt heard anything from them they would chase it up. I said i thought they had till the 31st August to deal with all the complaint and he said that deadline is for them to make a decision about the claim. It looks like there could still be a long wait ahead:mad:

    Yep,

This is just what I've been saying

My claim with RBS went in Dec 2009 and was up held last month

FOS now state 8 weeks for RBS to calculate the amount due and pay it

I was under the mistaken impression FOS were acting in our interests!

The 31st August date is just a farce - they could say that they uphold the claim and then 4 weeks down the line claim they made a mistake

I'm surpriseD actually that Martin isn't making a bigger deal of the 8 weeks to make payment business - this also applies to the banks that haven't had their timelines extended

So in their case they get 8 weeks to full investigate our claims but then another 8 weeks to calculate the amount due?

Funny, I've never noticed it take so long for them to work out what I owe THEM
