Its been a good news day for me today.

Just been told by MBNA that my 2 claims (loan and credit card) have been upheld ! :-) However, they were unable to give me the amounts as the final calculations are going to be done later today. These date back to 1994.

Also, having rejected HSBC's offer last week because they had not included contractual interest, they have emailed me today to say my offer is being recalculated to include the contractual interest and they will advise me of the outcome asap.

Just waiting for figures now - hopefully they're nice ones !

Nice one!:T:j Well done and Congratulations!

    Hi all,

I am wondering if anyone can help please? I have sent two PPI claims one to Egg and the other to Blackhorse, both 9 weeks ago. I have heard from egg at the 4 week and 8 week mark. They have said they need another 4 weeks till 24th Aug. How ever I have only heard from Blackhorse once back in June.
First can anyone tell me if they think egg will go all the way 24th? and does anyone have the email contact address for Blackhorse?

    Hi

I've not had direct dealings with any of these, but most are requesting for more time, but if its been a while since you've heard of any updates, I would vgive them a ring to chase them up, good luck.;)

does anyone know if it goes against you if you have made a claim on your PPI????

    thanks

    Hi there

Its now known you can still make a reclaim and the decision will be upon whatever you're reasons are for asking for a refund, however the amount will be reduced if a successful claim have been made for example, sickness/unemployment etc.

Give it a go if you were mis sold, good luck.;)

    Hi all,

Thanks to money saving expert I've had two success stories so far...

Egg - called and discussed my concerns of mis-selling, they said they would look into it and write to me, they did initially to say they were investigating then I got another letter upholding my claim and paying me £400.15!!! which had interest included. Very happy with that. :j

Santander (Debenhams Card) wrote a letter explaining reasons for PPI claim and mis-sell, got a response to say investigating then next letter upholding my claim (afet review sales call etc) and paying out £260!!! This went to my balance which should now be close to zero.
    :j
The not so good news - Santander (River Island Card) - got a letter yesterday saying that as I didnt cancel the policy during the 30 day cooling off period they wouldnt refund my PPI. They said we couldnt prove mis-sell based on pushy sales as it was 2003 and clearly no footage as sold in store. :(

Has anyone had similar? Should I pursue or leave it? I genuinely felt pressured to take the insurance and it was implyed at the time it would help the credit process.

    Thanks lots
    WeeC

    Hi

First of all well done on your success.

If that wasn't the final decision on the rejection case, the write back to them again (some did not even know they could cancel) and if this is the case for you then tell them that and ask them to reconsider.

Keep at them until the final decision, and if you have received the final decision they should let you know if you would be eligible to complain to the FOS or not, the FOS will consider other avenues if they are unable to investigate against a unregulated company (at the time you taken this account out).

    Hope this helps, good luck.

Contacted Llyods today to chase up my claim, the guy on the phone was really helpful, told me they had made an offer and i would be getting just over £700 back.

Not bad at all considering i closed the loan off early, sent my questionaire in Feb of this year.

Only RBS, which they have upheld, awaiting figures. And Opus cards, which i havent heard a peep out of in a couple of months. to go.

    Good luck all.

well done on your win can i ask when did you put your claim in to hfc and was it through fos?
    Thanks

I sent a letter on 6th May 2011, saying why I felt the PPI had been missold. They acknowledged receipt of my complaint on 11 May, sent me a standard questionnaire to complete on 1 June, then a "we have 16 weeks to respond" letter on 27 June - and made their offer in a letter dated 3 August.

I didn't need to contact the FOS at all.

Congratulations  Hope you dont mind me asking how long did this process take and did you have the paperwork for this claim.
    Well Done again
    Thank you!

6th May to 3rd August (well, I've not got the cheque yet - just the offer - so I may have another 4 weeks to wait for the money).

I didn't have much paperwork at all, plus a few old cheque stubs with the card number written on. But I didn't tell them that ;)

    Hi all,
Its great to read on here about so many of you getting your money back, some really good amounts too. Still seems to be very few for Lloyds though. They seem to be one of the worst and they really should be taking their lead from some of the others who are working through their backlog fairly quickly. They do themselves no favours with their attitude to their customers. My daydream would be to win a large amount on the lottery and then tell them in no uncertain terms why they were not getting my custom lol. Still have 3 weeks of the 16 left to wait and patience is running low!!!
