• Thought I'd give hope for those waiting on Barclays as can't see many recent successes from Had an old Masterloan for £5000 from 2001 paid off in 2006 and put in a complaint in Oct 2010. Was put on hold and after receiving the goodwill letter in June have been ringing Barclays once a week for an update as advised on this site.
Finally emailed the CEO a week ago again as advised by you lovely people,and on Friday missed a call from Barclays so had to ring them on Monday to be told I would be getting a cheque for 2500 :j:beer: Cheque came today so happy days!
I nearly gave up on this one but this site kept me going. Thanks for all your advice, patience and inspiration guys. :j

Your right its a bit complex. On succesive Single premium ppi the FOS recommend the following;

(A). In respect of each loan:
- recalculate the loan and the payments to what they would have been if the consumer had taken the loan without PPI
- repay to the consumer the amounts by which the payments actually made exceeded the recalculated payments;
- pay the consumer interest on each of these amounts at 8% per year simple from the date each payment was made to the date the compensation is paid;
- recalculate the balance that would have been outstanding at the end of each loan had the recalculated loan not included PPI.

(B) Calculate how much of the balance that was carried forward to the subsequent loan related to the cost of the PPI policy taken out for the previous loan: and
- repay to the consumer all amounts paid under each subsequent loan in respect of the carried forward balance, including interest and charges;
- pay the consumer interest on each of these amounts at 8% per year simple from the date each payment was made to the date the compensation is paid.

Looks fun to work out though I will bend my head around it and get back to you. I think though I am going to need some info on both loans. The monthly payment of interest on each ppi policy would be best otherwise the loan amount on each policy over and above the PPI SINGLE PREMIUM and the total you paid each month on the loan.

I think then I can give the calculations a bash. Its pretty obvious its going to be a big sum as the ppi less rebates are £6689 and its got to be at least that

Wait to hear from you
N
hi thanks
sad to say dont have all the information you need , but no worries at least i know the minimum i should recieve , and should have a few thousand interest on top hopefully
thanks

• I used your templates from the website to reclaim £1540 from my PPI from a Santander for a loan I had 5 years ago.
The last payment was on the 25/7/11.
All it took was the short time to fill in the template and the price of 1 stamp.

Can't thank you enough.

Hi there,if i were you i would give them another week and ring and ask what is happening with your claim,they have 8 weeks to get back to you and the JR has held things up, you may get a letter asking for more time,if you do then hang on for them to let you know if your claim has been upheld as the waiting list at FOS is a very long time at the moment, just keep checking with them.

Am - NatWest are one of the banks that are allowed 16 weeks to respond (plus 8 weeks further to pay of course!) - coming as they do under the RBS umbrella

Congratulations to all who have got their PPI back!
