Hi Rae....congrats on your win from cap 1!!!! Can i ask you a couple of questions....when they said you added it in a phone call to activate a card, was this in a letter that said it was their final response?! As i have has the same response saying my partner added it when he activated a card a year n half after he opend the account. Apparently he didnt orriganly request it when opend in july 04 but then asked to have it added during this call in december 05 when his employment as a soldier was still the same and he swears he didnt ask for this and i doubt he would have done as he would never have been coverd.

    What did you do next??!!

Your help would be very much appriciated!!!:)

    just seen this one- sorry.

i contacted the fos who said they will send paper work to me.

But as i was so annoyed with cap 1, i sent an email to the ceo saying when i took the card out i ticked no to everything cash back, ppi.

I was young, free, single, with no dependents, so y one year later when my circumstances had not changed would i say yes in a telephone conversation.

I also told him i wanted a copy of the telephone transcript and this was not treating the customers fairly.

with that he sent it to their exective team and i got the reply.

    Hello
My stories similar. Cap 1 said I agreed to PPI 2 years after I applied for the card during a phone call to activate the card. My circumstances were the same and on the application I stated I did not want PPI so why would I suddenly change my mind. I requested transcripts if the phone call which they could not provide. I wrote back to them saying I was going to the FOS and yesterday they sent me a letter asking for details from HMRC that i was unemployed when PPI was added.
Thanks for letting me know what happened to you

Kay (and others) I dont get this HMRC thing some of them keep doing and think its an absolute P take

If you have to prove you were unemployed I'm sure there are easier ways, such as bank statements or proof from the job center you were collecting JSA?

National Insurance proves nothing, as with certain types of JSA, they pay the NI contributions for you

The focus should be on the fact they provided PPI without you asking for it, and if they cant prove you did they need to stump up!

I'd be inclined to write back and state something along those lines, if only to get a final response so you can tell them to stick it and go to the FOS (appreciate that would take longer, but Cap 1 are just giving you the run around)

    :(

Di hi - when i found this website i queried a couple of things with you and everyone else - this is just a really really really big thanks to all of you.

I didnt have ppi on my BHS credit card however i did get a few charges - so i took martins advise. I didnt ask for an amount i just asked for all charges back on the 13th July.

Received a letter today with a list of all charges and them saying they will take the £580 off my balance.

    So yippee - happy days.

Again you guys are the best and good luck to all.

morning guys my girlfriend has heard back from little woods this morning turning down her claim  it basicly says

all info regards ppi was sent to you to read and check that it was suitable for you and you had a chance to canel it at the time

it was a multipurpose policy and it would still cover her on other benifit other than unemployment

you stated you were unaware that you you didnt have to have the ppi or indeed had it but this is not a loan it is a home shopping account the cost was explained premiums added and statement sent to you every 28 days showing this since 1997

as i have found no evidence of any failure in providing you with the correct policy information at the start of the policy and that you are still eligible for cover by extra care i am unable to uphold your complaint

this are our final responce but you can take it to the fos however due to the rules and restrictions fos are required to follow and as your policy was sold before 22md of december 2003 it is our understanding that fos may not be able to adjudicate on your complaint as we were not a member of a dispute resolution service until this date

mmmm not taking it lieing down though!!! my claims has taught me that

has anyone had any luck reclaiming from little woods?

any suggestions please or advice on where i go from here with it ?

    Morning guys,

    First of all

    THANK YOU

    OK right here goes

Just checked my Halifax credit card balance online whilst checking other stuff and noticed my balance has dramatically changed.

But i dont know if its enough, which i know sounds greedy but will check it out

Basic run down for anyone still claiming.....

Letters from Jan , March,. May. June.
    Email sent Friday 15th July
Phone call from email Monday 18th July
Money added onto credit card Friday 22nd July

From what i could make out from statements i had paid £349.00 in ppi payments from 2006 i cancelled it in Jan 2011. So it wasnt a massive amount compared to some.

Today i have just checked and they have paid...
    Premium Refund = £392.34
    APR Refund = £225.53
    Rebate Refund = £4.12

    Total £621.99

Don't get me wrong i am chuffed to bits my balance was £1469.88 and now £834.89 which is great news.

But if someone has the time could they maybe advise if this is the right amount and because they have paid it in do i have to accept the figure or am i able to go for more if i think .. I remember i think it was Ian or maybe someone else thinking it should be about £900

Anyway one happy lady here xxx and once again my big heart felt thank yous go to

Di! you're getting your abbreviations muddled!

FSA = Financial Services Authority (Goverment led banking watchdog)

FLA = Finance and Leasing Association = a sort of ombudsman that applies to some store cards and car finance where no one else can help (NOT the A Team though!)

    :D

See said it was a long day yesterday :o:rotfl:

I thought he asked for the abbreviations of the FOS?
Or have I missed the FLA one somewhere?:o:eek::rotfl: oh dear......Cheers hon lol x
