Good grief
This "data is corrupt" theme seems to be cropping up all over the place, doesnt it?
I hope theyve sacked their I.T managers as I'd expect them to have redundancy (back ups) on such important data-
Congratulations to all who have got their PPI back!

I second that tifosi, or another one "fire damage"
Yet they are supposed to keep data on microfiche files I understand as well. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
ok guys and ladies of course, i will hold fire for now get as much info as i can and go forward, i will then write them a letter stating i do not agree with all the reasons that i have, demand a written transcript etc etc, i will offer them one chance to uphold this or off it goes, i will not tell them exactly what details i have found to be untrue i will let the fos see this for their own eyes, off to work soon , yeah 12 hours sat night, so will view tomorrow for any more advice, once again thank you all, without you i would have given up

Good for you themass, you tell them what for, and that you do not agree, I would also be inclined to mention that these "front loaded policies are frowned upon by the regulators, and its very likely you will have your case upheld by the FOS anyway"
Also add "the policy was worthless, and would not have covered your partner either and if this was explained to you when the policy was sold to you - then you would have raised this issue, and that it's not fair to leave your partner responsible for the loan where she would not be protected".
Ask them to reconsider by 7 - 14 days, or you will be taking further action of all evidence you have to support your case, but you are also given them the opportunity now as well to settle once and for all, to save further bother later down the line where if this happens, you will also be asking for further redress for the inconvenience and distress this have caused.
Hope this helps and the very best of luck. x;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Last year I referred to Martins moneysaving site for where to buy my holiday currency. I chose Crown Currency and lost £700 as the company went bust the day I was meant to receive my dollars in the post :-( on a happier note though, I stuck with Martin and used the letter templates to claim my PPI to my credit card. Today RBS have offered me £598 which I'm now considering is a replacement for what I lost with Crown currencies. You win some, you lose some! :-)0

I rang Santander to ask if PPI had been added to a loan we took with A & L in 2000. This was the second time that I had rung them but I spoke to the loans dept. first time and they didn't have any info going back more than 6 mths. This time I rang the complaints dept. and spoke to a lady who told me she couldn't see any details but would look into it for me. She asked me if I wanted to complain if PPI had been added and asked my reasons. The phone call took less than 10 mins and she told me that I would receive a letter to acknowledge my complaint within 2 weeks.
That was Thursday!.................. Today I have received a letter saying my complaint has been upheld and I am to get reimbursed £2,042!!!:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j
How easy was that!!
Any newbies out there, do NOT go to a claims management company!! They will not all be as easy as this one but thanks to everyone's help and advice we can do this ourselves!
Can someone check the details for me please!
I have been offered:
A) Total mthly premiums until Nov 2005 (loan started Nov 2000) £1233.00Statutory Interest on A) until July 2011 £809.67.
Total £2042.67
I am assuming the total mthly prems. include the interest charged but I will check this with them on Monday before I send off the acceptance. If it does then does the '8% simple per annum calculated interest' look correct. The letter states that this is consistent with the FOS approach but I thought this should be 8% compound interest? Grateful for what I have been offered but want to make sure it is correct!
Thanks again everyone!!!! Couldn't have done this without you :A

Fire damage?
Not seen that on yet!
In that instance I'd be askinf for proof of the fire
I think they assume we are all idiots - when I was claiming penalty charges on a credit card I had this "data destroyed due to age" issue, so I put on my best I.T cap and asked for proof that the data was destroyed using a satisfactory process to ensure my personal info was safe
-
Congratulations to all who have got their PPI back!
