Hi Lisa i have still got at least twelve days to wait but in readiness for it not turning up on time have you got the Email address for mbna would be grateful thanks and would you know if they send it recorded mail ?

this is the CEO address 'ian.odoherty@bankofamerica.com'

Still no cheque in todays post so I have requested a BACS transfer from them. Apparently, they can't orgainse a bank transfer to me and would have to cancel the cheque and then re-issue it!!!!

What?!! A bank can't sort out a bank transfer?!! That's worrying to say the least.

Seems some ruling has come out that is now allowing the banks to have 16 weeks to respond to the PPI complaints due to the volumes- Accroding to the Co-Op Bank?????!!!!!

Anyone else heard this>
• Back in 2005, took out a loan when I was young and naive, I was told by Egg by adding payment protection insurance, you are less risk to us so you are more likely to be approved

Back in the current day, I receive Martins weekly email, and decide to investigate my claim as I was misold. I do a credit check to get the full details of the loan (even earning an extra £10.10 cash back in the process *thanks again martin*)

6th June 2011 - I call EGG on a general enquiries line a log a complaint, over the phone. No real questions are asked, the lady was very helpful and she notified another department, I was expecting a call back.
8th June 2011 - I receive a letter acknowledging the complaint
4th July 2011 - I receive a letter informing me they are still looking into the complaint
18th July 2011 - I receive a cheque for just under £700

Without the weekly email, I would never of thought I would have a case and that I would have been able to take on the bank.

Thanks guys!

Amersall, Di, ive just noticed a small error with the paperwork, on the demands and needs statement it gives us figures for a single life cover etc and is signed by myself and my wife, however we took out joint hence both of us signing, and the figures for joint are completely different , when we settled we have statements which clearly shows original premiums for joint cover and these are what we paid , minor but interesting that they have the figures wrong, and why would we both sign for a single cover.

Hello everyone - just wanted to report in with my huge success today. Letter arrived from RBS today about my claim for PPI on my Mint card. Got an offer of just over £6.5k which I'm more than delighted with! :j

It was actually incredibly smooth and easy - I used the templates here to send the claim a few months back. Had a few letters in that time saying "sorry for the delay, we're still looking at it" kind of thing. Finally got the offer today with no quibbling and while they were at it they calculated what I'd get back in terms of excess fees as well and did the whole lot as one payment. A huge amount of the offer is made up of "compound interest" as the PPI dates back to when I opened the card in 2002.

Would never have claimed if it wasn't for this site and all the clear information. Thanks so much! :T

I complained via FOS last year regarding ppi I took out with Halifax in 2002.
After much timewasting by Halifax (ignoring complaint, delaying replies, sending letters to my previous address, etc) FOS seem to have them in a corner.Had a letter from FOS saying Halifax have agreed to pay up,Yipee,......BUT,also explaining they have up to 8 weeks to respond, that was 3 weeks ago.Ah well, another 5 weeks and I should be closer to a result.
