:jHi, just to let you all know had a letter from BOS yesterday advising that they have upheld my claim to the tune of £1,198.33, am sooooo excited. My complaint was sent to them in December and have done little chasing apart from a couple of phonecalls, so it seems they are getting their act together. Just have to wait for the cheque now, but says interest is paid up to 4 August so assume I won't get cheque till after that time, but still great news :rotfl::j

Just waiting on RBS now which has been with them since last August so think they might need of a boot up the rear :rotfl:

Absolutely fab :T:j great news, and Congratulations!

Good luck with the RBS too.;)

    Hi
Very infrequent poster here , but avid reader.
Just had letter from Co-operative bank (Smile ) upholding my complaint for loan taken out in 2007 and still running ( front loaded PPI )
Total refund of over £2300.00 will be appearing in my bank shortly and payments will be reduced by £43.00 a month.
Sent the forms 10th June so quite quick ,think they are one of the decent banks.
Thanks to you all for your help and encouragement , anyone not sure whether to claim or not , just do it , takes about 10 minutes to fill in the form.
    Regards

    Brilliant well done and Congratulations!:T:beer::j

    Hi there

Mine was a credit card going back to 1999 ish... balance was £3000.

    Nanna x :)

    This is very interesting.

Mine was 1998 and limit of £3,000-£3,500.

Watch mine be £500 now :rotfl:

  • Hi Just joined this forum and It is great to see what you are claiming back, Well Done!

I had a credit card in 2005, been unable to pay it since 2009, Blair Oliver and Scott took over and have stopped interest and charges on it so the balance is actually going down, But I have got my credit report today via Equifax and it shows that the credit card was defaulted 25 sept 2009! £10,869. ( I did not expect to see DEFAULTED when I was still paying towards it)
To any lender looking at my file would now think I had done a runner to the tune of almost £11 grand! Its not the case.

I have been paying just over £100/month and currently it is about £8500, its going to take another 6-7 years to pay it off.

My question is can I do anything about it, like sending a letter off asking for proof of a signed agreement or similar, to get a reduction, fees claimed back or even written off?

Hope to hear from someone soon

    Thanks

    Hi and welcome

Do you know if you were paying for insurance (PPI) on this account?
If so I would ask them to cancel it as from when it was taken over to the other business as your not able to use it anyway, so therefore its totally worthless to you.
And of course its added to the debt, where then it will reduce the balance.

However, if mis sold the ppi you can of course try to reclaim.
    More details below...
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-credit-card-insurance

In this case you would still pursue the ones responsible for mis selling it to you in the first place, all details on how to make a reclaim on the link above.

And there is also another thread that should be able to help, called "debtfreewannabe", lots of others in the same position as yourself, so it maybe worthwhile posting on there as well, good luck.

very interesting finds! i too have had my complaint rejected due to the 6 year joke, sorry ment time barring from a loan from 1999. So very interested in your findings. :D
Just got off the phone from Natwest
First call . We've been unable to find any loans with PPI on for your current address
Only been there nine years can you check under old address please? this is the post code XX00 0XX
I'll ring you back in ten minutes

    Five minutes later
Found one taken out Feb 1999, Cleared Feb 2004
    Did it have PPI , Yes , £1050 .
Great, Any Employment details, phone number ? NO
Great cos I was self-employed then and they didn't tell me they had put it on.
You've got a case then I'll log it on the system then back date to when you reported it it take about 16 weeks , Ok Thats fine.
Have you found any before , Sorry this system only allows me to back to 1999, I'd need to go onto another system.
Could you go back to 1990 when I opened the account I'm pretty sure you'll find some more. Sure. And you'll let me know either way? Certainly:T:T Quick calc looks £1050 x 8%= £2094
    60X £21.12 M0nthly payments plus interest from 1999 =£2270 total
    £4364 ???:D:D:D
