I sent a letter to Egg on 7th April 2011 and received two letters with a day of each other - the first saying they were looking into it and the second stating that with this review ongoing they couldnt do anything! Did you get these letters too or have I missed out for some reason do you think?
Also, before I knew of this site, I sent details of a couple of other credit cards that I had had to one of these companies that claim they can get the PPI back for you, they wrote to me afterwards but I will admit I didnt read the letters, was too scared to read thier charges and stuff for some reason which I do regret now, and shredded them. I havent heard anything else from them, I originally sent it off on around 8th March 2011 this year, do you think that I am now in a position to start proceedings myself and if the company gets in touch just say I hadnt heard from them so did it myself - I cant even remember the companies name to be honest. I am so stupid at times!!!0 -

Hi I am tring to work out what money I will get after a success claim against Northern Rock
I have phoned them to ask but they said it's not been worked out yet!!!!!!
They have told me they will refund all premiums and interest paid plus 8% so here's what I have so far:-
Paid PPI for 14 months of £35.46 with an APR of 5.8%
Paid PPI for 10 months of 28.91 with an APR of 5.6%
Paid PPI for 53 months of £45.91 with an APR of 11.9%
so all that plus 8% ( not quite sure how they work it out)
Any ideas of roughly how much I'll get back as I'm terrible at maths

Hi,
I have written a letter about the mis-selling of PPI to me a few years ago. I got the template from the guardian website but I don't know what this part of the letter means.
"I claim back all the premiums and interest I have paid in connection with this payment protection insurance policy plus statutory interest at 8% (or whatever other rate the courts might order) from the first payment that I made until the date of your settlement of this claim."
I hope someone can help me.

effectively what it means is you want back all of the money/premiums you have paid with interest for being deprived of your money.
8% is what a court would order them to pay if you were to win a civil case against the bank, so the FOS guidlines on PPI refunds advise that the banks should award the same if they agree you have been mis-sold and refund you your money.I'm proud to say that the banks no longer take money from me after becoming debt free0 -

I have been waiting two years for NatWest to sort my PPI out. Still nothing. £7K they owe me the thieving sods, FOS have ruled in our favour as well. JR has held everything up.
However, one letter to Egg on th 20th April this year, recieved a cheque for £1127.50 this morning. Result. I'm off down the pub.
I suggest everyone claims where they think they have been mis-sold.
Gareth

Hi,
Im just about to out in a claim to Egg for a loan from 2003, but to be honest I really cannot remember the circumstances surrounding it.
Can I be a cheeky so-and-so and ask exactly how you worded your letter?
Cheers

Hi Phil
Reclaim questionnaires are being used now to make reclaims, but you are free to write a letter if you want to.
For more on reclaiming here.
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance
Step 3 is the questionnaire, complete and send to EGG main office or complaints dept, keep copies of everything and allow 8 weeks for a decision, good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
I just sent two letters to Egg this morning, one asking for the terms and conditions of my loan that started in 2001 and the other requesting the details of that loan. Both used templates from the reclaim ppi guide
Good luck, I'll let you know how I get on.:beer:0
