PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

Hi
I am new on here so I apologise if this question has already been asked. A number of weeks ago I sent off a PPI claim to Halifax Building Society and a week ago received a phone call to my place of work from a Halifax representative wanting to ask me a few more questions about my claim. He asked me if I was able to discuss this with him unfortunately I was unable to talk to him at that time to which he replied, well then we cannot continue. I asked him if he could post me out any further questions he had. To date nothing has been received. Have I blown my chances of a reclaim or what can I do next?
Any help would be appreciated.
Hi and welcome
I would write and tell them you received a phone call which you assumed was in regards of your reclaim, but you were not in the position to be dealing with reclaiming matters over the phone, and your preferred method of contact would be in writing only.
Then inform them you expect to hear of a decision by 8 weeks, or otherwise you will consider taking your complaint to the Financial ombudsman service (FOS).
Good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Thank you Di. I will write to them and see how it goes.0

I was reclaiming from the Halifax and HSBC credit cards.
Combining the two, I got back around £2,800!!
I wrote to the banks and they said they couldn't make a final decision. Thanks to the website's encouragement, I wrote to the Financial Ombudsman. After a few months I received an offer from both banks, which I was happy to accept (the refund of the PPI and the interest accrued).
I'm not sure if this was because of the FOS, or if the banks came to their decision independently, but nevertheless, I am glad I wrote to the FOS anyway.
My sister and brother-in-law recommended this site after I told them I had been paying PPI on my credit cards. I checked out the website and saw how clear the process was, as the website led me through step by step.
Yes, it is slightly time-consuming filling in all the paperwork, but it is worth every second of your time - I am so, so glad other people encouraged me, and I could not have done it without the help of Martin and his website. :j
If you can't decide whether to bother or not, or if you don't think you have a chance, please do try - as the website says, you'll have only lost a stamp and some time filling the paperwork in, and if you're successful it will be a huge weight off your mind - I actually cried with happiness when the cheques came through, as it meant I could pay off my remaining credit card and have some left over.
I hope Martin and his team read this as encouragement for all their hard work - you have made me very happy. It just goes to show that a David can still win against a Goliath!! :T0 -

After success with getting my PPI back from Egg to the tune of £6500 3 weeks ago, I decided to chance my luck with my new found confidence and attack Barclays and Capitalone.
I sent my letters and info off to both 2 weeks ago, and this morning in the post, Barclays have upheld my complaint, and a refund o £6000 will be paid to me in the next 14 days. RESULT!!!!!!! :j:j:j:j:j
:j Well done!!! :j That's amazing, I definitely did a dance when I saw my cheque from Egg... am waiting each day like a little kid, for the post to see if I get a similar response from Marbles or Virgin - very much doubt I'll get anything other than the response of 'pending jr review', but I can hope!
The info on this site is amazing, and it really is so easy to put your claim in that anyone dithering, really should try!0
