    • What were you reclaiming: Car Loan
    • Who was the provider: Alliance and Leics
    • How much did you get back: £256
    • Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: 1st letter
Just received an offer for £256 for the 11 months of the PPI paid. {loan settled early} One quick letter and A&L settled what I wanted.

Just LV Loan PPI £6500, Natwest CC charges + PPI and Natwest loan PPI to go. Shame the rest of the banks aren't as honest and quick as A&L. Natwest can stall something shamefully and even send to old addresses - happy days!
    • What were you reclaiming: PPI on an Unsecured Loan
    • Who was the provider: Alliance and Leicester
    • How much did you get back: £97
    • Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: 1st letter
Easy! I paid this loan off in 2007, wrote a letter to them asking for my PPI back, recieved a reply in less than 2 weeks offering the full amount!

No such luck with Welcome Finance and Citi Financial, my cases with these two have been sent to the FOS this week!
    • What were you reclaiming: PPI
    • Who was the provider: A&L
    • How much did you get back: £1.498
    • Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: After 1 letter
    • And then write your brief reclaim tale
Was charged in total £2.699.56 for ppi and after watching Martins video guide I was sure I was mis-sold, I tried to get out of the insurance by not signing it but I recieved a letter from them explaining that If I didn't take out insurance they could not carry on with my loan so i signed it. I now know that what they did was completley wrong and after 1 single letter which was a template on this site they took 2 weeks to send my check and readjust my loan amount without ppi any longer which means that my £250 per month is now £203, I was thinking about adding to the loan to make it end sooner but I've decided to completley pay off a credit card :D:) ;D

    *does a little dance*

Thanks so much to everyone who helped my on the other thread about how to claim, everyone there is so helpful and i wouldn't have been able to do this without Martins site and all the dedicated people who help others.

    GO MARTIN!

    Oh Wait... The Mortgage

  • I have successfully claimed back PPI from marks and spencers loans. I started my claim back in May 08, their first letter said they had retrieved the call from their archives (as the loan was took out in 03) and the policy was sold in accordance to regulatory guidelines. I disputed this fact and requested to listen to the call myself before accepting their findings. They have wrote to me last week and apologised and admitted that the loan was infact misold to me and was not fully compliant with the regulations at that time. They sent me a full refund and 8% interest added onto it too!! I received the cheque by special delivery last Friday. I did send all the letters special delivery to them so they cant then deny ever having received it. Should you need proof of the signature upon delivery you can also get that on the royalmail website track and trace area. So, my thanks go to this website and good luck to everyone pursuing a claim, persevere until you get the result you want!

Hi. I'd just like to say good luck with your claim against Welcome Finance. I'm also in the process of reclaiming from them and my case has been with FOS for 6 months now but is still waiting to be passed to an adjudicator. Im sure my outcome will be the same.
I think its wrong that Welcome can get away with refusing to pay out when they're clearly at fault and I hope that your successfull when it finally is passed to the obudsman

Hello... I am a new blogger to the forum. I wish you every success in reclaiming PPI from UnWelcome Finance. Like yourself I am in a similiar situation with Black Horse Finance & Welcome Finance. Both cases have been with FOS for 8 months. Black Horse are refusing to payout although the FOS have upheld my claim. The case has been passed to the Ombudsman for a decision. I thought that if the outcome is made in my favour that the decision from the Ombudsman is binding on the finance company. Can someone please clarify if this is correct? I am still waiting for an adjudicator for my claim against Welcome Finance. The FOS do have a backlog of claims however, the whole process does appear to take a long time as in both of my cases these claims were made against the companies back in October 2007.
  • Hi last year I read about this and I realised I had been missold ppi so I copied the standard letter to the company involved (the bank of scotland) and got no reply so I sent another standard letter to them this time they did reply and said no they were not due me any money. I then left it thinking that the ombadsman would come back with the same response but encouragement from my boyfreind i wrote to the ombadsman when i was writing this letter and calculating what they owed me I was angry. When I received a letter from the ombadsman 2 weeks ago saying the bank have agreed to give me back the full ppi £1488 plus 8% interest per annum I was happy although the bank said they are doing it as a 'goodwill gesture' and take no liability. Still waiting on the cheque should be here soon I hope they said within a month.
So I would encourage anyone to do it.
