Hi there,
If you were 'sold' the policy through an Agent you should always go back to the organisation you originally went through. What I'd do is write to whoever it was GE Capital says sold you the policy copying the letter from GE.I have been given this fob-off response from GE Money and require urgent assistance as to where I go from here.
Now to me it looks like they are trying to pass me around the houses, however all documentation pertaining to this loan all come from GE Money.
Where do I go from here as these guys are making me more angry by the minute?0 -

Under normal circumstances you have a window of six years. (Law of Limitations 1980). However, if your insurance was provided by a third party provider other than the lender there may be an opportunity to claim further back than the normal time limit. You may also be able to seek redress on other issues other than ppi. This depends on who provided the loan and how you got it.I am a former Broker, former IFA and former compliance officer, for my sins.
However, I have since seen the light.0 -
sorry what do you mean by redress?0

I have looked into getting a separate loan protection cover and have found one that is very cheap through the fool website which is much less than I was paying with just Lloyds and not taking into account the £50 PPI I am paying with Nationwide. But currently have nothing in place but will sort it in the next week.
When writing to Lloyds they dealt with the enquiry really quickly and I had a reply within about 2 weeks of writing to them. Since posting my reply earlier I am now determined to write to them again as I didn't sign anything for the PPI and have now asked them to provide a copy of that form and if they cant or wont refund my money I will be going to the Ombudsman. When I phoned Lloyds to change the loan they were very helpful. They did ask me why I was removing the PPI and I said that it was a rip-off and that Id been mis-sold it. They didnt say much to that and were really helpful.
You really have nothing to lose by writing to the companies, using the template letters, and it can reduce your loans if I were you Id go for it as your right if successful it will be worth it.DFW Nerd No: 758  Proud to be dealing with my debts!:T Proud mum to Bon-Scott my amazing 10/10/10 baby0 -
Have just received a letter from loans.co.uk, took out a loan with them in 2004 and sent template letter as they were in the group of companies which had been fined by the FSA. Today's letter states that they are not at fault, and they feel that we were not misled. They will not enter into any further correspondence unless instructed to do so by the FO. My husband has 2 jobs, one of which is self employed. Should we take this further or just give up now?0

Loans.co.uk are the broker.
Unless they have specifically arranged ppi as a stand alone product the lender will have arranged the cover. It will be the lender who you should seek redress from in such an instance.I am a former Broker, former IFA and former compliance officer, for my sins.

Hi all
well i have had one hell of an afternoon, looking for all paperwork regarding HFC/Household bank/Hamilton Insurance? what ever the hell they are called, this is what i have found:
3 lots of cover PPI for hubby not me strange?
1. £1033.10 + £1751.78 = £2784.88 but then charged interest at 23.9% so a further £2645.72 was added, that's the big PPI that crippled us and we nearly lost or home due to Household taking us to court.
2. one at £426.96, then £612.72 @ the rate of 27.7% apr
I cannot believe what we have done, we borrowed after them pestering us over 3 years around 15,000 when they took us to court and we had to re-mortgage we paid them around £23,000 which was thousands in PPI by the look of things?
I am on a mission they caused uus so much heart ache and still are really with debt, i am gonna get these, if i can? cana i get them, we paid the loan within 18 months of taking the loan out and the PPI so can we? please someone advise if we can ????0
