KERCHING....KERCHING....KERCHING :j Hi all just couldn`t contain myself and had to let you all know..Had a letter back from the Halifax this morning,

"Having reviewed your account carefully I am satisfied that your policy was inappropriate for you because although you also signed the application form, one of the separate boxes relating to the purchase of repayments insurance also required a signature to confirm whether or not you required protection for the loan repayments however both boxes were left blank.

This should have been identified at the time of the interview. You did not sign that you did not require the cover and the documentation is therefore not compliant with regulatory requirements for the sale of the cover.

We will arrange for a refund of the insurance premium plus interest to be made :T

Good start to the weekend guys!! xxxx
    """"END QUOTE""""

Hi I had the same letter in November. but now they say they will only rewrite the loan without PPI (no refund or interest) and take off what has already been paid.
    Mine is now with FOS

    Hi,

Yes,I had worried thats what they would try to do....Did your letter admit they had missold and were going to refund you? What were your grounds for misselling

Yes they have admitted mis selling on the same grounds as you "didnt tick box or sign but still added"
They said they would refund me then all I have had since is 3 different loan agreements with 3 different loan amounts and repayments and no offer of any refund or say what date they start from or what happened to the money I have already paid!!!

 I suppose you did write back to Halifax saying that new loans etc were unsatisfactory before you went down the FOS route? Iam getting that sinking Monday feeling should have known that they were going to sneak out of it,or try too:mad:

Yes I did write back and was told that this was the only option available. If I didnt take it I would just have to carry on as is and lump it.They have told me point blank that I will never see any money from them and if I dont like it....TOUGH
You may have a different experience though!

We have had a reply from our third letter. How did you get the telephone call?......hes going on about sending details via email of our PGP encryption ,whatever that is.
They won't give us it by cheque either( whats that because they have paid out so much money they want to stop)...only take it off the loan.
And they are avoiding the question of the PPI going altogether.
Also what he said in the last letter was his final offer.
i got a disc sent unencrypted never got it offerred via email Ithe annoying thing is like me you get the 3rd letter with the final response and yet the disc comes after and you dont gat a chance to comment on it i replied and yet got no response whatsoever no point even replying go to FOS as it states final response the fsa said to me you can contest the fact the money is taken off the loan its your money it seems firstplus just do want they want some people get offerred the rebate some nothing at all and the rest go to the FOS i would send it to the FOS now if you want a copy of my FOS form I can forward it if you pm me your email address
keep it going it will be worth it in the end

Hi, Did you see the banter between myself and sampainter seems Halifax may be all front and no bottle but it looks like they`re going to try it on...Great, feel really down now, thought I could smell victory but more likely the wiff of an impending battle:confused:
