  • Me again, I have noticed some of you (First Plus) had to pay for your transcripts, I just telephoned sking if I could have a copy, half expecting to be asked to send a cheque, but, I didn't so got away with that, and like I said in my post they twist you round their little fingers and dazzle you with this and that they certainly know how to confuse you and especilally they know the reason why you asking for a loan is beacuse you are probably in a desperate situation so you are blinded by your situation you just say yes.

  • To Daynurse, Cocker100. m.colak and anybody else claiming from First Plus.

How are your claims going, or have all of you had to go through the FOS

Any Info would be apprecitated because I bet this is the way I will have to go.

wELL as last I am going to start my claim to First Plus. My initial complaint started via a telephone call which then was emailed to their complaints department, so I haven't gone down the route of a letter, but since I started the complaint in the form of an enquiry I have now settled the loan, so I think i have to go down another route so I recall a reply to me and I think it was cocker 100 by Tiggrae, who said at the time we have to use the Misrepretation Act. So if possible if Tiggrae in around or M.Colak some advice would be helpful.

Firstly, I have the CD with my conversation on it, and oh my how they persuade and entice you. I was quoted a repayment figure for the amount I asked for, I was quite happy with that, then the badgering started about did I have cover if I got ill, I said yes I would have at least 6 months full pay via work, I already had in place some other income protection, which would cover my mortgage, saleman knew this, but, kept insisting that if I did get ill did I have anything to cover the loan and he kept going on and on. At that time I had to cut the conversation short, because i had to go out, but he promised to ring back later which he did, Right payment figure arranged I am quite happy then he trows in that the repayment figure included the PPI which he never announced at all in the beginning thencontinues to tell me all the goods things about it and very quickly skipped over the bit that says it is added to the loan by this time you are thinking yes this sounds great. I was never told what the loan would have been if I didn't take on the PPi.
So I think I was mislead/missold and misrepresentated.
So what i would like to know is what can I claim back.

My loan was for £27,500 PPI £5,704.93 Total 32,980.75 according to agreement £212.56 was for the loan and £42.37 for the PPI Total monthly payment £254.94 (which I was quoted for the loan alone) the apr at the time was 7.7% variable (also what I would like to know everytime the interest rates went up was in just on £212.67 or would it have been on the total £254.94)

So this is how I settled Total amount payable under the agreement £75358.27 less their rebate on early settlement £40991.41 Plus £150.00 administration charge Total to them £31516.86 My first payment to First Plus was on the 11/09/2006. So in effect they have taken from me £4,010.86 apparently they took something like £1,000 rebate for the PPI well I think so

So when I do the next letter can some help with the calculations this is the bit I can't work out it all very confusing and I am not sure what figure or figures I should be claiming on or how much I should be asking them for.

I have seen dayniurse struggling with this and the some others and
I must say I don't think I could do the bank calculator thing either.
I only another 4weeks to reply or they will consider the complaint closed so I don't want them to win.
The person who is dealing with my complaint in Peter Mullins, have any of you other First Plus's had him?
I hope somebody can help me, because I am not sure about what figure to claim for and how to compose my letter if a template isn't available and I certainly do not want THEM TO win
we certainly got sucked in the same way made it sound great
Imnot sure what amount to claim for are you claiming for unfair rebate off ppi or missselling or both? mr mullins dealt with mine i rang him a few times very pleasant not been in the dept long! he will wish he hadnt he has a team leader who they say yes or no good luck

Hi MSE, Daynurse and Others again.

I did as was suggested and sent letters to All my C/card co's. This is what I got back.

    (1) Monument. They told me, as I had a 'Payment Break Plan.' It wasn't subject to the PPI rules. As it was optional. Which can be activated, when requested within 6 months of an illness or accident. Therefore, they say, they acted responsibly. The file will stay open for 8 weeks if, I still dispute reply.

    (2) Mint. They sent me a photo copy of application form I filled in, in September 2001, with my signature. They said, I had a 30 day cooling off period for me to decide whether or not to take out PPI. Under there Section 7, they say, Stated a "Your right to cancel" etc. Mint have given until 19 March for me to reply.

    (3) Coop Bank. Have written. The letter was just to advise received my letter.

    (4) Abbey. Wrote the same. Will reply by 7 March.

    (5) LLoyds TSB. Wrote the same and will reply within 28 days.

As advised by daynurse, eventhough, I had cancelled All my PPI's, once I realised, I was paying for, Nothing. I should write. So I wrote, to all the above.

They All apologise for my concerns but so far, Mint and Monument aren't forthcoming.

What do I do now? Thanks in advance, for any advise. I could do with My PPI payments back, right now.

I was remortgaging and it was difficult getting a re-mortgage with the secured loan round my neck. So i decided to consolidate it in with my new mortgage because I wanted rid of it. This PPI business only came to light when I mentioned to the broker about the secured loan and he wanted to know the amount. Of course I was quoting 27,500 when all along it was 32,000+ with the PPI, because I thought, like so many others it was a separate Insurance not one added to the loan. Just want to know now which bit I claim on, approx. how much and do I ask for all of the monthly payments back that I have made already on the PPI (17 months @ £42.37) plus the remainder of the PPI minus the rebate they took off when I settled which I think was about £1,000 or so (not sure about that bit I would have to ring and ask them) + this 8% business.
Like you I work for the NHS so if I was to be off work long term I have full pay for 6 months I told this to Lee Evans (SalesPerson) and I mentioned my other PPP I had in place but he kept pushing, and the figure he quoted at first already included the PPI cheeky thing.
Anyway, have you now settled with First Plus I am at the moment trying to catch up with the posts on the forum got to page 123 so not sure if you vodafreak, cocker 100 and m.colak have settled, I noticed they gave you a figure to settle, did you take it up, and how did youwork your figures out?

I think my situation is a little bit different to yours because I have settled my loan.
Have you listened to your CD conversation, I wish I could put mine on here just so they could here how they get you hooked.
Got to go just seen the time got to get my daughters lunchbag ready for school and need some sleep.
    Thanks for replying.
Will let you know of any outcomes

Hi I wonder if anyone can help? I am not sure if I am putting this question in the right area so forgive me if it is wrong I am very new at this.
    I took out a loan with RBS in 2006 when i was in dire need of money due to a standing order being taken out of my account on the wrong day and incurring penalties (another story for another day :mad: ). After reading the articles about PPI i looked out the paperwork and realise I was one of the many who could possibly reclaim. The paperwork says;

Amount and perpose of loan £6,046.00
    Insurance loan 1,496.00
    Total amount payable 9,265.20

I am paying 60 payments of 154.42 a month (38.22 or which is insurance!) I could cry at my own stupidity but i was desperate at the time and was assured that the insurance policy would help my application almost word perfect to the article. Having looked over the paperwork closely (had been avoiding all debt paperwork as it's so depressing) I realise that the insurance isnt just paid month to month as i stupidly thought but was infact in the form of a loan of 3,219.20 and that the interest on this 18.27 % over the full term.
My question is can i ask for a refund of my insurance loan/ premiums? Also will the loan payments be lowered in view of this? Does it coast to recalculate the loan terms etc?

Sorry this is so long winded but I feel as though I am having to explain myself in order to justify my own stupidity am so ashamed at my financial situation. I hope somebody can help. x

Hi i'm a little confused with your figures please could you set them out so as easier to understand.

    Loan Figure
    PPI Figure
    Loan Charge
    Number of Payments
    Start of Loan Date
    Final Payment Date
    Settlement Figure

I found it differcult to follow your figures as your original loan was 27.5k and then two lines down you start quoting on a figure 70k+ so am a little confused. Lets deal with one loan at a time that is the best way to deal with them all. If you consolidated later then we will deal with this after.
