Thanks.M1VIX
We are waiting for our reply to our 3rd letter. They have offerd us £5,500 but thats 78% of the premium...Basically to shut us up.I've pointed out and asked a few things first ,hoping they might offer more...if not then its the FOS.I expect they are inundated with all these complaints about PPI.And i bet first plus are crying with all the money they are having to pay out !! Never mind i expect they'll put the interest rate up soon to make up for it...they never put it down anyway!!!Julie:p0 -

Hi,l was thinking that the FOS's desks must be piled high, so far l've got 3 complaints with them, but just the sheer volume off complaints must tell them there's been some serious mis-selling going on.0 -
Natwest - Making things easier !!! Am I stupid? I started applying pressure to get my PPI refunded in October using template and vdue to nature of the reply I followed it up with a personal response.
Since that point I have recieved letter after letter every time I make a phone call for an answer to my questions. Each time they pass me to a different dept under a different handler and set a different date to which they will let me know the outcome of their investigation. The last time they sent a response from the main customer relations dept it said they would contact me within 28 days. They didn't!!! I phoned them after another week to be told that they Would contact me on the 25th of feb (another 20 days on).
I am tearing my hair out. They told me I couldn't talk to the investigating team as they do not take caals from customers! cheek!
They have shown me evidence that on my previous loan with them from 2 1/2 years ago that I did not have PPI, but they can't show me evidence that I did ask for it when this loan was consolidated into a new loan. My argument is that if I didn't have it on the old loan why would I want it on the new loan. They cannot/will not answer this.
Should I have let it get this far? Should I just go to the Onbudsman? Will I wake up and realise it was all a bad dream? Help!!!
Exactly the same has happened to me almost down to the dates!! I wrote to them in November with template number one and received an acknowledgement on the 19th December. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, and with Christmas, I waited until 14th January 2008 to receive yet another "yes we're looking into it" response.
What with one thing and another I left it until 14th February to write again (this was THREE months after my original letter) and received another acknowlegement on 20th Feb to say they were "currently making investigations" and will write to me again within 28 days.
Am I being a wuss? Should I just go to the Ombudsman? Has anyone actually received any compensation form NatWest?
the irony of this is that my loan ends on 1st May and I am still paying the PPI. At the time I wrote I had less than six months to go on the loan.
I was made redundant in July last year, but didn't make a claim as I found a new job straight away.0 -

Hi
Just wanted to know if anyone has had any success with Abbey.
I took a loan out in 1998 with PPI
I wrote to them in November 2007 to claim the PPI stating it was mis sold as I wasnt told it was optional
they have phoned me to say I had applied by post so they say.
but I am quite sure I went into the branch to apply as I held my current account there at the time.
I have no proof of this but I said I would not have applied by post and surely they would have phoned me or asked me to go into the branch to verify things.
what do you think.
they have not sent anything in the post to me to say yes or no to my letter.
what should I do.?
also we have gone to the FOS about First Plus
we have settled the loan in Jan this year but stated we would still be persuing our claim of missold and the rebate which we were unhappy about but just wanted to get shot of them .
has anyone who has settled their loan got the PPI back or is it people who are still with them.
any comments would be appreciated

Laini - sorry i cant help with you questions (odd that they have not written to you)
but
I was interested in your FP claim what reasons did you give for them misselling you the PPI?
I Would be interested to hear how you get on with the FOS“most people give up just as they are about to achieve success”If you think you are going through hell keep going - Sir Winston ChurchillIf You Can't Change It, Change the Way You Think About It.SW, 13st5lb, -4 1/2, -1,(12st13.5lbs)0 -

Hi AC
we said we were not told it was optional but they say not.
I also wrote other letters stating misrepresentation and how can they say it is is fit for purpose a lot of money for 5 years cover plus we only had the loan a year and they have pocketed over 10 grand upto now.
I will keep you posted on the outcome of this also got the same problem with Nemo

wELL as last I am going to start my claim to First Plus. My initial complaint started via a telephone call which then was emailed to their complaints department, so I haven't gone down the route of a letter, but since I started the complaint in the form of an enquiry I have now settled the loan, so I think i have to go down another route so I recall a reply to me and I think it was cocker 100 by Tiggrae, who said at the time we have to use the Misrepretation Act. So if possible if Tiggrae in around or M.Colak some advice would be helpful.
Firstly, I have the CD with my conversation on it, and oh my how they persuade and entice you. I was quoted a repayment figure for the amount I asked for, I was quite happy with that, then the badgering started about did I have cover if I got ill, I said yes I would have at least 6 months full pay via work, I already had in place some other income protection, which would cover my mortgage, saleman knew this, but, kept insisting that if I did get ill did I have anything to cover the loan and he kept going on and on. At that time I had to cut the conversation short, because i had to go out, but he promised to ring back later which he did, Right payment figure arranged I am quite happy then he trows in that the repayment figure included the PPI which he never announced at all in the beginning thencontinues to tell me all the goods things about it and very quickly skipped over the bit that says it is added to the loan by this time you are thinking yes this sounds great. I was never told what the loan would have been if I didn't take on the PPi.
So I think I was mislead/missold and misrepresentated.
So what i would like to know is what can I claim back.
My loan was for £27,500 PPI £5,704.93 Total 32,980.75 according to agreement £212.56 was for the loan and £42.37 for the PPI Total monthly payment £254.94 (which I was quoted for the loan alone) the apr at the time was 7.7% variable (also what I would like to know everytime the interest rates went up was in just on £212.67 or would it have been on the total £254.94)
So this is how I settled Total amount payable under the agreement £75358.27 less their rebate on early settlement £40991.41 Plus £150.00 administration charge Total to them £31516.86 My first payment to First Plus was on the 11/09/2006. So in effect they have taken from me £4,010.86 apparently they took something like £1,000 rebate for the PPI well I think so
So when I do the next letter can some help with the calculations this is the bit I can't work out it all very confusing and I am not sure what figure or figures I should be claiming on or how much I should be asking them for.
I have seen dayniurse struggling with this and the some others and
I must say I don't think I could do the bank calculator thing either.
I only another 4weeks to reply or they will consider the complaint closed so I don't want them to win.
The person who is dealing with my complaint in Peter Mullins, have any of you other First Plus's had him?
I hope somebody can help me, because I am not sure about what figure to claim for and how to compose my letter if a template isn't available and I certainly do not want THEM TO win0
