Clydesdale have now come back saying they will investigate and let us know what is happening within the next 28 days. We'll see.

    Hi guys,

I have been reading through this thread and was wondering if anyone has come up against the following arguement for not being able to reclaim PPI.

I had signed up for PPI not realising that since i have diabetes i would not be covered for any sickness, etc, stemming from it. :o

Here is the response i have had from MINT and MBNA.
Basically that since the PPI was applied for on application and that the T&Cs were sent out, with a 30 day no obligation guarantee, it was up to me to read through them and ensure i was eligible to cover and that the policy met my requirements. :o

Both MBNA and MINT, previously RBS Advanta, have given me this response in relation to my PPI claim on their credit cards.

Furthermore MBNA have said that they have exhausted their internal complaints procedure, after my first letter, and this is their final response.

Any help would be greatly sought after and appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

i was treated to the same response by the halifax, sent complaint to FOS now!
If your lucky enough to be irish, your lucky enough ;)

Have just had another phonecall from LTSB with regards to my 3rd letter threatening court action.
After speaing with the complaint handler and getting nowhere, i ased to spea to his manager. His response was ( my 3rd final response ) they were not upholding my complaint.

After 30 minutes of getting his manager to see sense that had it been optional, no way would i have got myself into another 5k of debt for something i felt i wouldnt need, she has agreed to re-review with him tomorrow and call me bac with a 4th final response!!

Lets hope its a positive one as i fully intend to tae this to court if not.

As always will keep you updated!!

Keep em crossed for me guys!!

just an update... and not a good one

Lloyds have called me back today and told me their final response is sod off!!

They have hoever, offered me abot £200 as the PPI should have been cancelled in april 2004 when my account went to the debt recovery team..... Not the £11078 that they owe me!!

    FOS here we come!

Wish me luck guys cos im about ready to hang myself!!

No, dont let them get you down. Besides, I will get them at playtime for you.
I am a former Broker, former IFA and former compliance officer, for my sins.

However, I have since seen the light.

  • Hi I am back again

I sent a further letter to First Plus saying we wanted the cost of the ppI policy and the interest for 4 years and basically they have sent the same not mis-sold letter and offer back. Any further advice please?
  • hello

well having sent my letter on the 30th october i recieved a fob off response on the 5th november

well i wasn't gonna stand for there b******s lol.... so sent off my second repsonse...

i have a case handler and it goes in front of the companys complaint comitee on tues next week.... what do u think the outcome will be?

we are claiming on the basis, we didnt realise was for 5 yr not loan term single premium. also my husband asthmatic, also we didnt realise we could take it out as separate with them therefore not paying interest for 15yr.

do u ever doubt urself they r in the process of transcribing all calls, i doubt my claim sometimes and think well they may have sed it but fell on deaf ears???!!!!

god hope its successful a poss 8000 before xmas!!! or taken off loan!!!

    wow!
  • Just thought i'd give a quick update on my claim with Firstplus-there isn't one!! (update, that is!)
Have even sent an e-mail to my "complaint executive" on 5th Dec but she hasn't even had the decency to acknowledge receipt of this!
Oh well the longer it drags on, then surely the more interest i can claim! I am DEFINATELY seeing this one through to the end!!
