Hi have had problems with Barclaycard PPI and also PPI on a Barclay Loan they are not interested in any communication etc. Have sent info for both through to Ombudsman. They seem to be very difficult wonder how many people have had success with them with first letters.

    Fingers crossed for you,

    Hi Guys

received 2 x final responses in the post yesterday saying sorry but your getting nothing.
First one was from barclaycard who say their policy schedule was sent and it was up to me to make an informed decion. Is this correct and what can i do now, when i took this credit card i worked for a company who payed full sick pay and death in service benifit at 4 x times my salary. Its about £3000 plus intrest they owe me.

Second one was from Monument, more or less the same as above accept they can not find the phone conversation in their archived data, but have offered one years payments back as a good will gesture. should i just proceed to send the letters to the FOS or county court. do i now ask them for a total amount that was paid to them.

    any advice would be appreciated

    regards jim
Hi Jim, you'll need to complete a complaint form for the FOS or an NI claim form for the courts - if you're going down the court route you'll need to quote the legal basis / case law upon which you're basing your claim.
  • Hi Tiggrae,

Cheers for that, i did say in the 2 letter that i believed that i was misrepresented,
should i go the FOS route or the court one.

    regards jim
  • Thanks tiggrae, will take that on board. jim
  • Hi there

I have been paying PPI on several credit cards and loans for years unbeknown to me. Several of the companies are mentioned as having mis-sold customers PPI.

I am going to send the letter which moneysaving expert has recommended in an attempt to reclaim these payments.

Should I cancel my PPI payments in the meantime or should I continue to pay them in case it affects my ability to reclaim all the money I have spent over the years.

    Thanks a lot

Hi, good news this morning, with reference to PPI mis-selling LTSB, as a 'gesture of good will', are prepared to offer me a refund of £1600 plus interest accrued, but they want to credit the £1600 to my loan account. This means the monthly instalment on my loan will remain the same, but the balance and term of the loan will be reduced.

I would prefer the £1600 plus interest be paid into my current LTSB current account instead of the loan account. Can anyone advise me if I am within my rights to ask for this ?

    Many thanks.

    Mik.

    All my credittors wanted me to pay back to my debts and i simply sent them my letters back to them stating either yes or no to their offers and added a paragraph at the bottom which might be of use to you;

Finally, any funds paid to me in this matter shall come directly to me via crossed cheque or another method of your choosing and will not be paid via any third parties nor into any account I hold with yourselves.

This worked each time and i received the funds either direct into my bank or via a cheque. Hope that helps.

Hi there, it really does depend - the court route is the quicker but you really need to know your stuff in terms of the legal arguement - the FOS is easier but not very quick - you might want to check with the FOA first that both Barclaycard and Monument came under their juristiction at the time you were sold your loans otherwise the court will be the only route open to you

Hi there, making a claim for mis selling effectively cancels your insurance and you want to be clear that is what you want to happen when you send your letter.
  • thanks tiggrae, i will check but these are cards and not loans. jim
  • Hi there
I have had a reply from Helifax that they agree I was mis sold PPI but that it will take a few weeks to sort out what I am owed.
They say that because they have to restructure the loan, work out my repayment and calculate compensation that it will take ages.
    Is this normal?
How long can they delay (sorry calculate) for?
surely as they took 12 weeks to investigate the claim the figures should not take long.
I MAY HAVE NOTHING.....BUT ITS MY NOTHING
