See post 1389 for an example letter to threaten court action. Odds are they won't want to go to court and will fold.
Thanks, will like to try to do thismyself as far as I can, purely for the self satisfaction feeling!!!
I have amended your letter and just this second emailed a copy to them.
Will await a response now and keep my fingers crossed. All else failing I will contact Petermb and let his team deal on my behalf.
Thanks for the advise, keep your fingers crossed!!0 -
mis-selling is only one way to challenge the lenders over this issue. There are more simple ways of challenging with relatively no time limit.
I will advise.
Thanks for the advise and offer of support. From your own personal experiences, what do you think my chances are of doing this on my own with the threat of court action??
Your views would be appreciated

I will keep my fingers crossed and update the success board/ failure board to keep others updated on what can happen and when.
I kept almost the whole of your letter, so hoping it works the same magic for me!!
Just like to thank everyone who advises people like me on this site and gives me the confidence and knowledge to do something about these issues!!

As GT568 says, and I hate to agree with him lol!, unless you threaten them with court action they are going to continue to fob you off and roll all over you. The fact that you can and do threaten is often sufficient to get them to give up. The problem is that issuing court actions is not the normal thing that individuals do so it scares them to death.I am a former Broker, former IFA and former compliance officer, for my sins.
However, I have since seen the light.0 -
Hi
I have been reading all the PPI threads with interest. I took out a loan in 2003 and at that time had a critical illness policy in place, along with pretty good cover with my employers. I am now starting to think that the PPI cover actually duplicated a lot of the cover I paid for through critical illness too - and on fact remember that the sales person tried to get me to change critical illness cover over to them at the same time
Anybody else had any experience or views on whether this is a valid reason to launch a claim?
Thanks0 -

Was made redundant and claimed on PPI sold by Halifax on my credit card. Administered by Halifax Insurance Ireland and branch say they cannot help (at least so far). Problem... I am registered for Jobseakers Allowance but because I'm in receipt of a company pension I get nothing from the state. The Insurers are refusing to honour the policy because I am not physically receiving a payment. Gone to Ombudsman today but they won't act for 8wks!! Don't think time is right to reclaim on misselling as it may stop policy. Anyone out there with a success story? ALL BEWARE.0
