Sorry I dont give my secrets away. The chances are that you will be able to claim all the way back to 1990. I will pm you with contact details.I am a former Broker, former IFA and former compliance officer, for my sins.
However, I have since seen the light.0 -
Carrera 74. If you are claiming for mis-selling there is a window of 6 years. However i dont claim for mis-selling. I use a totally different issue to pursuade the lender to pay you. This one has no time limit as such so we can go back up to 10 years or more.
I’m intrigued! How would I find out if I am able to go down this route?0 -

When i took out my credit card in 2004 i was a housewife and i've received a letter back today stating unless i can prove i was not working in march 2004 they are not bothered, if i can provide info they will refund me.
on my application i stated i was a housewide and had been since 2002.
since i get no p45's , p60's etc how can i prove it.
do you think my annual review from tax credits from 2003-2004 which showed my personal circumstances and on this it says i was not working or self employed do you think this will be enough evidence.
how else can i prove i was not working???
help please
many thanks0 -
I'm in the process of trying to claim back ppi from citi financial dating back to January 2006. After the initial letter, I have contacted them again only to find out that they have "lost" all the paperwork regarding this loan (apparently 2 offices merged), and they are referring it to their legal department. Any advice on what to do next?? Thanks!!0

Two ways to look at it.
1. Its up to them to keep the paperwork and ensure it is kept safe, I think under data protection act
2. You write back and say well if you don't have any paperwork for the 'alleged' loan, how can I pay you back if you don't know how much or how long I have left to pay. As far as you know this month could be you're last payment, I'm sure they'll find the paperwork then. Thanks to all the competition posters.0 -

The loan was paid back early in January 2006. I'm trying to claim back the ppi, but if they have no paperwork, where do they and I stand?0 -
Hi, i have read through this long disussion and apologise if I have missed the answer to my question. Let me begin - I have had an HSBC credit card for, wait for it, 20 years!!! (Yes, I know!) In all that time, until I came across this site, I was under the impression that the payment protection was compulsory! I have wised up A LOT! I used the first template letter at the end of October stating i thought i was mis-sold as I was unaware it was optional and I didn't think the person selling me the policy was qualified to do so. I have received today a "get lost" letter, bascially saying the insurance has been shown on my statements for all that time and I have never queried it, all HSBC staff are fully trained, there was a cooling off period etc etc. They then say if I am not happy I can go to the FO but having read the latter posts the FO do not deal with claims predating 2004? so now what do I do? Any ideas would be helpful thanks!0
