    Hi
I am in the process of getting all money paid back from Welcome for one client and the same with Swift for another. These two companies have serious problems.
I am a former Broker, former IFA and former compliance officer, for my sins.

However, I have since seen the light.
  • HSBC have asked me to prove I wasn't working when I took out a credit card which included payment protection. As I was a housewife at the time how do I prove it! Any suggestions welcome.

If you banked with HSBC ask them to look at your account - it should show no income - also reply that you believe you were misrepresented and under the Misrepresentation Act 1967 the onus is upon them to prove otherwise.

Bit new to this so please be gentle....

Took out a secured loan of £30klast October with Paragon thru brokers Loanmakers,on top of the £30k was a £6k PPI.
Have written to Paragon t to get the PPI refunded and a new loan fiqure . They sent me a snotty letter came saying it wasnt there problem it was Loanmakers as they were my broker,I sent off another letter to their complaint dept, they have just written back saying yes it was Loanmakers problem and to take it up with them, although they are stopping the PPI and will have a new loan fiqure for me soon.Forgive me if im wrong but Loanmakers just checked my criteria found the loan I was needing and passed me onto Paragon who0 went thru everything again. The loan, the paperwork, everthing is with Paragon so I dont understand why its the brokers.(Are they trying to fobb me off?)
Anyhow Ive now sent a letter to Loanmakers so fingers crossed.
Will the fact that Paragon have stopped the PPI affect my chances with Loanmakers.
    Any advice greatly appreciated

Hi there, it's the people who 'sold you' the PPI you need to chase for mis selling (same as with endowment mis selling it isn't the endowment company it's the selling agent you go for)

If you get fobbed off by the broker too, come back on and I will assist you. There is likely to be far more to have from Paragon than just trhe ppi.

  • I'm still waiting for a decision from Natwest!
Friends are angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly.
  • Hi, just wondering what my chances are?

We took out a secured loan in March 2004, added to it was 2500 ppi, upfront, we were told if we kept the loan for the full 10 years we would get the full 2500 back. We paid the loan off in full in August 2005 and were refunded 300 odd which is what we had paid out for the ppi already. What I would like to know is do I stand a chance of getting the other 2200 back? It was arranged through loans.co.uk and the loan was with Paragon. Loans.co.uk have sent a letter with paperwork for the finacial ombudsman.

Thanks for any help at all!!
