Can anyone help me with working out what i am owed from first plus?!
I am still waiting to hear from them but would like to have a figure to throw back at them when they either fob me off or make a 'gesture of goodwill' offer!
    loan:£40,000
ppi:£9,796 I made 12 payments of £373.45 then paid the loan in full at a settlement figure of £50,229.86.
I would be grateful for any help as my mental arithmatic is more Mental than arithmatic!!
    Thanks.
Hi there, I'm currently battleing First Plus for a couple of clients and throughly enjoying myself as I've got them on the run !!! Ask them how much of the PPI you paid back upon settlement - get the date then add on the 8% statutory interest allowed by the County Courts.
  • I may have missed this but is it ok to reclaim the PPI when the loan has not been settled, The PPI was charged up front and I am not sure what may happen. Ideally this would reduce the balance outstanding. Any help would be appreciated.

    hi all :snow_laug

had 2 finals from m and s saying no, go to fos (i have heard they are doing this to most of their reclaim complaints customers!!)2 letters have gone to fos in the last week..

yet another hold response from egg..how long do i give them???8 weeks is almost up

yet another hold from rbs credit card..how long do I give them ??8 weeks is almost up

Does anyone know what the average time it takes to resolve etc.. when fos take up a complaint ?? ?????????

and finally for those out their who are receiving fob off letters...it only takes a stamp to send to fos, their website is really helpful and who knows, we may be lucky!! fingers crossed!!!!!!!

If they don't reply by 8 weeks send them a letter with this

I hereby give notice that you are now in Breach of the Statutory Complaints Procedure which allows 8 weeks for a Final Response to a Customer Complaint, enacted by Parliament in December 2001, and incorporated into the Financial Service Authority’s Principles for Business.

Should you not have provided a final response to my complaint by Friday 14th December 2007, we will have no alternative but to make a formal complaint to the FSA regarding your non compliance with said Statutory Legislation.

    HELP!!!

I've wrote to Barclays twice now there last reply was to say I had no chance in re-claiming my PPI as when I got made in 2005 I queried whether I could claim on the insurance after I had been made redundant. Are they right to say sorry but NO?!?!?!?

    No not at all.
I am a former Broker, former IFA and former compliance officer, for my sins.

However, I have since seen the light.

I sent a letter last week requesting a breakdown of my settlement figure but have yet to receive a reply.
I sent an e-mail this morning to my 'complaints executive' stating that i was not satisfied with their response( 1st letter fobbed off till nov 27, 2nd letter fobbed off till dec 27!) & basically stating a full refund with interest or passing to Financial ombudsman. I also mentioned FSA ruling on single premium policies!
I'll let you know the outcome.

Hi if they go beyond the 8 weeks so my post on previous page about breach of the statutory complaints procedure. Also, if you want to work out the 8% statutory interest use the bank charges calculator on this site - you just type in the date you repaid your loan, the amount and it'll work out the interest for you
  • I am thinking of claiming for a missold PPI, will this affect my credit rating, does anyone know.
