Having taken our a car loan with Yes Car Credit I have 4 months to run on a 4 year loan - the PPI virtually douobled the loan. having written to Direct car Finance they advised me that my claim is not valid under current legislation? They also question my claim particularly as to why I have a sudden vivid memory of the facts at the time of signing.0

I am currently reviewing other accounts that may have had ppi levied on them. I noticed egg was one where the ppi suddenly appeared. According to egg it appears that I received a cold call asking if I wanted ppi and according to them said yes, which I am 99.9% sure I would have said no. They then stated information was sent in the post to me. I am curious how this was applied to my account without a signature and if this has happened to anyone else. I have asked for all my money + interest.
What an easy way for egg to make money, just make up a phone call and start charging, I will also be informing FSA as it appears to me that this is not the correct way a bank should be run.0 -
Hi yet again Tiggrae,
Sorry to be a pain :-(Hi for mis selling go to company who sold you the loan / policy. For the unfair terms go to the actual company you had the loan with.
Does that mean in theory they would both pay me the money (£5k+ each) or would I be going for the £5k from the actual loan company and then some sort of compensation payout from the company that sold the loan for miss-selling ??0 -

don't let them fob you off, what they mean is you can't take your claim to the Financial Ombudsman as it's outside their timeframe. Tell them you believe you were negligently misrepresented to and under the 1967 Misrepresentation Act the onus is on them to prove otherwise and if you don't get satisfaction you'll take your complaint to the County Court0

Hi
Newbie poster getting on top of debt here, seeking advice PLEASE.
Four years ago, we were in financial trouble and so my husband and i took out a 15 year loan with First Plus for 55,000k. Added to this was a single premium PPI for £13,469k which only covered us for 5 years. The interest rate was 8.4% initially but this has fluctuated marginally. We sold our house earlier this year and settled the debt in full for a massive £62,000k. We believe we were missold the PPI so are trying to claim money back on it. On receipt of our second letter to them, First Plus came back with an offer of £2030 as a "gesture of goodwill". We know this is no where near enough but would really welcome some advice on what we should be asking for. Many thanks in anticipation0
