@roger1 Have you downloaded the FreedomPop app and signed in?
    Yes, also the Diagnostics app.

I'm now getting this message when I try to make a call:
    Unable to complete request

You have used all allowed Premium Voice minutes for this period and are unable to make calls. Try turning off Wi-Fi.

I had no allowed Premium Voice service, just the free option, and turning off wi-fi has no effect.

Pity, really. (I miss Ovivo. :p)

    Hi
    Freedompop site says:
If you still decide you would like to cancel your account, you can contact us at by calling +44 11 3887 0823 Monday-Friday 9am-5pm GMT.

Will call them Monday morning with request to cancel my account and refund my money.

I think OFCOM and OFT should take a closer look as it looks like mis-selling for me.

Personally I would suggest to cancel account first as it's NOT pre-paid service. It's pay monthly service and they may introduce charges in future and start charging your card. You have been warned.

    Edit:
Already filled a complaint to OFCOM
    It's easy and online:
    http://consumers.ofcom.org.uk/complain/phone-and-broadband-complaints/sales/
Click the button on the right and just fill the forms.

I would persevere, have you emailed the feedback@freedompop email address, I emailed to ask about 4G and have had 3 or 4 replies over the last 24 hours, very personal, even asking me about data speeds I'm seeing.

Did you download the app before trying to use the sim?
    Home - Calling & Texting
Trouble Making & Receiving Calls or Texts

If you are having issues making or receiving calls or texts, there are a few steps that you can take to resolve the issue.

    1) Make sure you have WiFi or have data enabled (you should be receiving a connection to HSPA or HSPA+). Please ensure that airplane mode is disabled and you have a network connection. If you are not receiving a network connection, you may want to try to toggle on/off airplane mode.

    2) For Android phones, please make sure you have the most up-to-date version of the FreedomPop Messaging app by checking in the Google Play Store. If you have an iOS device, you will need to make sure that you have the most up-to-date version of the FreedomPop Free Voice and Text app.

You will need to have the SIM installed and activated before downloading our applications. If you accidentally installed the app before activating you SIM card, please uninstall the app. Insert the SIM card again, and wait for it to receive a signal before attempting to install our app.

I wish I'd waited before I signed up, they got me! :o

I've got a dual sim phone so was looking for something just for the 200 minutes.

I've not looked at it too much, but cannot get it to work and guess I'd have to have my data running through this SIM to get calls on it; at the moment I too am just getting told to switch off my WiFi.

Given it has to be over a smartphone and I plan to move over to the Nexus 5X (single SIM), I won't be able to just pop this into my old 'feature phone' as I'd planned.

    Will try cancelling Monday...

Doesn't say this on the website. And if you don't have a smart phone ... can it be used?

On the front page of their website it says:
    Use on Any Device

Use your same phone number on any of your devices including tablets. You can download FreedomPop's app in Google Play or the iOS App Store and get FreedomPop texts and calls on any device you own.

    How it Works

Simply slide in your FreedomPop SIM, download the FreedomPop messaging app, and start getting free service.

So how would you download the app from Google Play or the iOS App Store if your phone can't access either the Play Store or App Store?

No. Clicking Contact Us on the website when logged in produces a 404 Page Not Found. Is that a .co.uk address?

I used the website to ask a question about international rates (can I call a Swiss mobile (not included in the international plans, just Swiss landlines), is roaming offered) and had no response. I repeated it on the FreedomPop forum a week ago with no response, also today's question, but that is still being reviewed before posting.

No, SIM first, then download some time later.

This was the first message I received from them, as I said, they are very quick to respond:

    Just wow.

Don't seem to be able to make outgoing calls, but just had my first one coming in, an automated sales call...

I'm not seeing this as a good thing.
