I bought the SIM by mistake thinking it was a normal service. Freedompop needs a smartphone and I don't have a smartphone.
I want to return the SIM and get my money back under Distance Selling Regulations. I have emailed FP and no reply. The phone number on the website is for America.
I got the SIM in the post today. I haven't opened it.
What are my options, please? How do I get my money back?SECRET OF SUCCESS IN LIFE:

really? It doesn't mention that on their webpage.
I was planning to put in into a spare phone that doesn't have internet access just to use the minutes and texts.
I ordered mine a week ago and still not turned up, is anyone else waiting?Life is a coin, you can spend it anyway you wish, but you can only spend it once.

It is true, for the "basic" free service.
Toy are right, it is not mentioned, in fact the opposite:
Use on Any Device
Use your same phone number on any of your devices including tablets. You can download FreedomPop's app in Google Play or the iOS App Store and get FreedomPop texts and calls on any device you own.
So, any device that is Android or IOS.

I had a weird e-mail starting:Beta Closes Soon!
Limited spots are left in our Beta launch and we wanted to make sure you had an opportunity to join before it's closed ...
Left hand, right hand?0 -
I had a weird e-mail starting:
Huh? I have my number but no SIM yet. Clicking on the link in the e-mail, I see my number and usage (nil, of course).
Left hand, right hand?
or you're just on their mailing list of people who registered an interes in the service
the link isn't specific to you, you must have been logged in to your account.0 -
I just clicked on 'Track Your Package' in my FreedomPop home page and see that my SIM is in transit, having apparently been despatched on 30 September. FedEx tracking info is not available.
Still 22 days of my billing cycle left.0 -
My SIM arrived today, delivered by Royal Mail. I suppose the link to FedEx is a remnant of the US site.
I was a little puzzled by an 07400xxxxxx number on the SIM carrier which was different from my FreedomPop number. Anyway, I inserted the new SIM and made a couple of test calls.
First, to my home number, showed as INTERNATIONAL. Both phones are in the UK, less than a metre apart.
The second, to my main mobile, initially claimed I was out of international credit and needed to top up. Second attempt worked and the number shown was the one I had selected when I applied.
However, calling the FreedomPop number from my mobile did not work!
I'm a little puzzled that my screen shows 'FreedomPop (phone symbol) Emergency call'. Data symbol is solid and signal meter is 3 bars. OK, I'm at home now, but does this mean that I can't use the phone when I'm out and about?
I guess I'll find out soon.0 -
@roger1 Have you downloaded the FreedomPop app and signed in?
It actually says the app is required for voice and text, if you read through the instructions.====0 -

Doesn't say this on the website. And if you don't have a smart phone ... can it be used?Life is a coin, you can spend it anyway you wish, but you can only spend it once.
