Tee hee - I've just put my first batch of Twink's hobnobs in the oven, and the house is filled with the most delicious smell.
One biscuit recipe I've used again and again because the kids love how easy it is is for chocolate biscuits:
    8 oz s r flour
    8 oz marg or butter
    4 oz caster sugar
    2 oz cocoa
Mix marg and sugar. Add flour and cocoa, and make a dough. Make balls (like Twink's recipe!) - I make them just larger than walnut-sized. Put on greased tray, and flatten with a fork (I've always dipped the fork in cold water as it seems to work better). Bake for 10 mins at Gas 5 (190 C). Yum. This makes lots of biscuits - around 60-65. But they disappear very, very quickly! :rotfl:

does this have to be castor sugar as ive got all the ingrediants apart from castor sugar i only have normal sugar will this make a difference

    I've been Money Tipped!
These are the recipes I use the most (so must be easy;))

    Chocolate Fork Cookies
    (really easy)
8oz butter or good quality margarine
    4oz caster sugar
    1 teaspoon vanilla essence
    8oz self raising flour
    2oz drinking chocolate

Cream the butter with the sugar and vanilla essence, then work in the flour and the chocolate. Divide into pieces the size of a walnut and roll into balls, place onto a greased baking sheet leaving room for spreading and flatten with a large fork dipped in cold water. Bake in a moderately hot oven (190C, 375F, Gas Mark 5) for 12 to 15 minutes. Leave to firm for a minute on the baking sheet, then cool on a wire rack. Decorate with icing sugar if liked.

NB To make vanilla cookies just up the quantity of self raising flour to 10oz and leave out the drinking chocolate.

    Cornflake Cookies
(great for using up the last of the cereal)

    1 + 1/2 oz butter or margarine
    3 oz caster sugar
    1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence
    1 egg
    2 oz plain flour
    pinch salt
    1 teaspoon baking powder
    2 oz corn flakes

Cream the butter, sugar and vanilla essence together until light and fluffy.

Beat in the egg gradually. Sieve flour, baking powder and salt and add corn flakes mixing well.

Put teaspoonfuls onto a greased baking tray, leaving a space between each for spreading.

    Bake in a moderate oven (180C, 350F, Gas mark 4) for 10 - 15 minutes.

Remove to a wire tray to cool.

    Golden Oat Cookies

    3 oz plain flour
1/2 level teaspoon bicarb of soda
    3 oz caster sugar
    3 oz rolled oats
    3 oz butter or margarine
    1 tablespoon milk
1 level tablespoon golden syrup/or runny honey

    Grease 2 baking trays.

Sift the flour and bicarb of soda and stir into the sugar and oats.

Heat the butter, syrup and milk in a saucepan together until melted (do not boil) then pour this onto the first mixture and mix well.

Roll into small balls and place 4" apart on the baking trays. Flatten with a fork dipped into some flour (to prevent sticking).

Bake for about 25 - 30 minutes. Cool on the trays for 2 - 3 minutes then transfer to another tray to cool down.

As you can see I love cookies :D

    Yep, should be fine.

Just make sure that, as always, you cream the butter and sugar well. It should get fluffier, softer and paler as you go along.

I thought they'd be crisps, as in the american potato chips thing, but they're not. They really are chips. Go look:-

    peanut butter chips

    Well, sort of chips :)

Heres the recipe, last night my pc wouldnt let me reply to the thread:mad:

    Raisin and hazelnut crunchies

    50g raisins
    40g chopped hazelnuts
    110g butter
75g demerera (found them a bit sweet so reduced it to 60g)
    desertsp golden syrup
    110g self raising flour
    Pinch salt
    100g rolled oats

Makes approx 15 (depends on size of course;) )

Melt syrup, butter and sugar in a saucepan over low heat until dissolved. Mix all dry ingredients together and add the melted mix, if too dry add a little water. Roll into walnut sized balls with your hands and squish onto a baking sheet into biscuit shapes. They dont seem to spread at all. Bake at 170c for 15 mins until golden brown. Wait 10 mins until taking off a baking sheet and putting on a cooling rack.

Can use any dried fruit and nut combination, we like a mix of almonds and brazils with sultanas-yum:p
