If you prefer something savoury these are so easy to make!
Really Easy Cheese Biscuits
4oz Grated Cheese
4oz Plain Flour
4oz Butter or Margarine
Cayenne Pepper or Chopped Herbs (optional)
Mix together all ingredients until the dough is smooth.
Roll out on a well floured board and cut into shapes.
Cook on a greased & floured baking sheet in a hot oven (190C/Gas mark 5) until golden brown (about 10 mins).
Cool on a wire tray.

Home bargains is excellent for treats. If your DD is fussy you could try giving her her own 'treats budget' to spend as she likes (either just for herself or she could be in charge of the whole family). Make it reasonable (say aim for a 50% cut in what you spend now in a week)
Then she can decide whether to invest in the good stuff and have them less often or to try cheaper brands and buy loads ( I think tesco value crisps are yummy).0 -
I agree, places like Home bargains and poundland are great for buying brand names cheap. Asda's savory crisp selection pack is excelent, if your daughter likes that sort of thing, salt and vinegar sticks, cheesy poufey things and onion rings. My little ones love these! They are the smart prive ones but really good. Fifteens are another good one to try. If you go over to this link you will find all the junk food recipies that i use. Make most of them with the childrens help! Good luck! x

We make our own crisps in the microwave! You need a microwave crisp maker - some are round with space for dips in the middle. Plenty available on the internet. You then very thinly slice your potatoes - peeled or not - your choice and microwave them until cooked.
You can flavour them - soak in bovril before microwaving them for beef flavoured ones!Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

Hi all
I fancy doing a batch-bake of biscuits. Does anyone have a cheap but easy (I'm NOT the best cook in the world!!) recipe. I don't have a blender or processor or anything like that, so it has to be a chuck-in-a-bowl-and-mix type of thing. Oh, and no fancy ingredients, pleaseAny ideas?
